Heart Condition

Proverbs 27:19

“As in water face answers to and reflects face, so the heart of man to man.”

Your relationship with those who you come into contact with throughout the day reflects who you are. If you were angry  with someone yesterday, ten years ago or maybe today , it’s wise to pause and reflect on where that anger came from…it’s like looking into a mirror and seeing a strand of hair out of place and decided to fix it right away. Step out and be polite to everyone including those who make you bite your lips. You will always walk away feeling like a champion.

There’s a lot of resemblance between our face and the reflection in the water. If you want to know who you are, stop and reflect on what’s in your heart. Do you feel bitter and enraged about someone? Do you feel the need for revenge? Look no further than YOUR heart and not the other person’s …a flower keeps on blooming in spite of the presence of dead flowers on the tree.

It’s perfectly sane to examine our own conscience, thoughts, motives and intentions. Who am I? Why do I get frazzled and upset when things do not go as planned? Why do I hold back on empowering someone else I know who may be struggling in life? Why is it easier to be Christlike to strangers and not our own family? Why do we need approval from others to feel good about ourselves?

At the end of the day, it’s always about the condition of our  heart that determines the answers to all of the above.

We all have a ‘little dash’ in our lives that determines the legacy we leave behind. We get only one chance in this life, there’s no rehearsal in living the way we want to be remembered. Choose carefully.

I’m grateful for His Amazing Grace.
