The Battle of the Mind

None of us is immune to feelings of insecurity including those celebrities that we follow. So many folks (ordinary and celebrities alike) opt for the knife to make themselves more glamorous and appealing with the hope they will feel more confident.

What about the brilliant educated woman who achieves and excels in her career, but goes home and unfortunately is verbally abused continuously by her spouse. Eventually after years of being verbally abused and hearing that she is not cute or smart, starts to believe it. Her self image becomes a huge problem and over a period of time, she quits her job because life has become too stressful and feelings of insecurity overpowers her.

What about an abused parent who repeatedly hears how awful they are because their children can’t have what they want? Words do hurt and unfortunately parents do start believing what their kids tell them. Insecurity steps in and makes her a victim of children’s abuse.

An abused woman is a wounded, helpless woman because she eventually believes everything she has been told. She stays in the relationship for fear that she cannot do better along with a host of other reasons. She loses her inner strength and fight with just mere evil words loudly spoken by those she once loved.

It becomes a raging battle of the mind how we view ourselves. How we view ourselves affect the actions or non actions we take in life.

Our mind will believe anything we tell it.

One of the most courageous decision you will ever make is to finally let go of what is hurting you. Everything will be okay. Just choose to believe that good things happen all the time in life if we have the courage to look up. Yes you can !!!

Whatever you believe about yourself on the inside is what you will show on the outside. Have you ever seen a beautiful lady with a bad attitude? That’s a woman that had been hurt and wounded in life and doesn’t know her worth. Beauty is not what’s on the outside but what’s on the inside of us. Believe that you have a good heart towards everyone and then ask God for strength to go on.

We must feed our minds with the truth, feed it with faith and feed it with kind words. Just believe everything will work out just right if we trust God.

You can either accept the negative words or thoughts of yourself, or change it into positive ones. If you can’t accept it then change it. Refuse to allow tomorrow to come still holding on to today’s or yesterday’s sadness.

To parents/ grandparents who have young kids – Teach your children and grandchildren to fly. We are fearfully and wonderfully made. Why waste time on other people’s opinions of us when our Creator says “I am fearfully and wonderfully made.”

No one argues with the manufacturer. It just doesn’t make a lot of sense. Right? So go brave and teach the little ones to fly.

If they want to fly, let’s fly with them. We’re going to do our part, but they will have to do theirs.

Together let’s build each other up and fight hard for the next generation.
