“The fighting between the forces supporting Saul’s family and those supporting David went on for a long time. As David became stronger and stronger, his opponents became weaker and weaker.”2 Samuel 3:1 GNT
Sometimes God will put you in a battle empty handed so that when you do get the victory you will know it wasn’t you, but God.
We must develop a strategy when we are faced with a battle. Just the thought of being in a battle can take every ounce of strength away from us. The strategy: We need to fight our battles on our knees and we will win every time. Trust God for His timing. It’s better to wait a while and have things fall into place than to rush into a battle and have everything fall apart. Sometimes no action is needed in a battle, but to stay on your knees and pray.
In a battle – we must never consider ourselves above correction. There’s just so much hostility involved in battles …we can sometimes act inappropriately making it difficult for God to fight for us. God is not the author of confusion. When the fight gets nasty, it makes it difficult for God to fight for us. Stand still and watch God do His stuff. Maintain an attitude of kindness and humility…consult with God and allow Him to whisper into our ears/spirit how to respond with integrity and wisdom. Even when we are confident that we are right, it’s important to trust God to work it out in our favor.
Injustice does not mean that God has fallen asleep on the job of overseeing the battle. It simply means we have to trust God in the stillness to be our defender. In the battle, God’s grace and strength on our lives will cause us to grow stronger and stronger.

In the heat of the battle – Destroy evil with good. Use the weapon of kindness – grieve with those who grieve. Be happy with those who are happy. Don’t seek revenge, God will repay.
We must behave ourselves wisely in the battle. Pray for a quick resolution, and refuse to entertain the thought for revenge. Slow down and think how many times God forgive us our own faults. God would have the last word in the battle. Do not plot or war against your enemy. It’s important to act wisely. God is bigger than anything we face. Remember: We all have flaws and imperfections, the struggle is real, that’s why we need JESUS.
