I’m Coming Through!!!

“Simon, Simon, Satan has asked to sift all of you as wheat. But I have prayed for you, Simon, that your faith may not fail. And when you have turned back, strengthen your brothers.” Luke‬ ‭22:31-32‬ ‭NIV‬‬

The Word says, Satan has ASKED God for authorization to sift ALL of us. It means that GOD ALWAYS HAS THE FINAL WORD over our lives – Christian or not. To sift as wheat sounds like a very violent act. Farmers harvest the grain by knocking the seeds off the stalks – it’s a long tedious process to get it to the table. Who said it was going to be easy, or why do we want to cry and give up when we have a violent and merciless attack on our lives from the enemy? After years of endurance, I’ve come to understand more and more that Satan wants to separate us from God’s goodness and His ways. He wants to snatch God’s Word out of our hearts and minds. So personally, I simply can’t give up just like that, I’ve come too far from where I’ve started from.

Satan wants to pull on the very thing that knits our family together. He wants to pull and wear our faith out. God warns us of difficult times ahead, He calls it the trying of our faith. No where does God says our walk with Him will be perfect and easy. If you think you are too good to be sifted like wheat – you are deceived. Don’t be impressed with remaining un-sifted. Don’t compare yourself with others. For now we may not fully understand the method God allows us to be sifted, but we know He’s praying for us that our faith will not fail. Hallelujah, God knows the path we are on. He’s watching over His Word to perform it!!

Every child of God will be sifted…So let’s STOP the pretense that our lives, our children, our home, our marriage, and our business are perfect. There’s growth when we are tested in our walk with God….actually that’s the only way to grow in FAITH. It’s through passing the testing/”difficult” times we move on to the Hall of Faith. We need to get down to the business of our true Christian walk, our prime purpose to being a child of God which is to strengthen our brethren; those who are in the family of God; and those who need a Savior.
When your faith is being put to test – call someone who knows how to come into agreement with you to pray with you. Don’t allow pride or shame make you want to go it alone. Soldiers don’t go it alone in a battle. They stand shoulder to shoulder to fight the enemy. No one escapes the resiliency test. Just like Peter – Christ, our Intercessor, is praying for us, that OUR faith will NOT fail.

God will not allow Satan to tear us apart at our seams of faith. We can be strengthened and renewed by studying and reflecting on the Word; fellowshipping with other believers; and gathering together to worship Him. CHURCH IS as IMPORTANT to Christians as the army camp is important to soldiers. That’s where we learn to stand at attention and say “Yes, Lord!!!”

God protects us from the ways of the Devil IF we are in Christ. We are told to consider it a gift when tests and challenges come at us FROM ALL SIDES. Under pressure – our faith reveals its true worth. Maturity comes from staying on course and not from running away or evading tests and challenges. If you don’t know what to do, pray to the Father, He loves to help us. He actually knows the route out of the maze and confusion that tests and challenges create. Ask boldly without a second thought about how God will bring you through.

I’m in this fight of my faith for the long haul. Don’t call or count me out!!! Jesus knows the quality of our faith and He will not allow it to be stretched beyond our capacity. The more tugging of our faith is more credentials we will have to speak boldly of our faith.

Little battles = Little faith. Big battles, tests and challenges = Greater faith and more glory. Wear your stripes with pride.

Let’s do this together. We are mature people, not children who need to be protected from fiery darts. And when we come through, strengthen the brethren. We are in the army of God. Show your loyalty to GOD!

  1. Thank you, Junie, for this reminder … we are all in this together. Our interactions with each other, as we are sifted together, make us all better together.
Together, we are stronger. Together, we are better. Rich word! Blessings!

  2. Praise the Lord for these words. We will continue to stand in the gap for each other.

    Galatians 6:9
Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.
