Unflinching Faith

The dictionary meaning of UNFLINCHING is – “not showing FEAR or hesitation in the face of danger or DIFFICULTY.”

The Bible meaning  of FAITH
is – “the CONFIDENCE that what we HOPE for will ACTUALLY HAPPEN; it GIVES us ASSURANCE about things we CANNOT SEE.”

Unflinching faith is the unshakable, immovable, no hesitation confidence in God ALONE when facing fear, difficulty, hardship, danger …..but at the same time never losing heart or hope in GOD.  It’s the kind of faith that makes you say ‘JESUS’ when facing the eye of the storm. It’s the kind of faith that doesn’t give up; doesn’t give in; doesn’t lose heart; doesn’t lose hope ….why? Because you are confident that JESUS CAN CHANGE, yes CHANGE – ANYTHING in the wink of an eye.

Unflinching Faith comes about when we deliberately keep our emotions at a lower level or volume than the strength of our faith. It’s the confidence in knowing that God wouldn’t bring you into a difficult situation and turn His back on you. It’s knowing that if you fall into a fiery situation – Jesus will be right there with you. It’s the confidence in knowing that as a Child of God, a citizen of Heaven ….you are NEVER left alone. Why? Because the first thing you did was to check in with God. He knows your location and has already assigned angels to keep watch over YOU!

Anxiety kills faith. JESUS is the kind of partner that will NOT walk off on you. You will never ever walk alone when you know JESUS. His strength is given to you by the words spoken and written in the BIBLE which is always your point of reference. Your confidence after reading the WORD – puts flames of strength into your bones and give you the courage to look ‘Anxiety’ dead in the eye and give it a wink – knowing full well it’s not your battle to fight.

Unflinching Faith is having the full assurance – It was so bad we didn’t think we will make it. We felt it was all over for us. But, as it turned out, it was the best thing that could have happened to us. Instead of trusting in our own strength to get out of it, we were forced to trust God totally – not a bad idea since He is God who spoke the world into being.

It’s knowing that if Jesus bought you out of  one difficult situation – He will do it again. Now that the worst is over, we are pleased to report that we came out of it with our faith intact and can face the world with our head held high.

Now, how are we still doing with our unflinching faith?

“So we’re not giving up. How could we! Even though on the outside it often looks like things are falling apart on us, on the inside, where God is making new life, not a day goes by without his unfolding grace.

These hard times are small potatoes compared to the coming good times, the lavish celebration prepared for us.

There’s far more here than meets the eye. The things we see now are here today, gone tomorrow. But the things we can’t see now will last forever.” ‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭4:16-18‬ ‭MSG‬‬

It is God who keeps us focus on Him. The End

  1. Thanks again June for a great blog.

    According to the song writer “my hope is built on nothing less
    Than Jesus’ blood and righteousness; I dare not trust the sweetest frame, But wholly lean on Jesus’ name.
    On Christ, the solid Rock, I stand;
    All other ground is sinking sand.
