“I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye PRESENT YOUR BODIES a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is YOUR REASONABLE service.
And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.” Romans 12:1-2 KJV
Companies require from their employees reasonable service. So what do they expect? Punctuality, Commitment, Honesty, Healthy relationships and such to name a few. What is God’s standard of a reasonable service? Only ONE thing – PRESENT YOUR BODIES a LIVING SACRIFICE. What does that mean? To make YOUR BODY obedient to the Holy Spirit and the Will of God, relinquishing or foregoing any fleshly desires or cravings.
God is only interested in our temple which is our bodies. It’s where He takes up residence the first moment we ask Him to come into our lives. Our bodies are no longer our own when we commit our lives to God. This is our reasonable service that He requires. Therefore, it’s expected that this will be the battlefield that Satan tries to take control of – our bodies.
The battle for our bodies is played out – God VS World.
The Bible tells us how Satan tempted Jesus by offering Him the kingdoms of this world – “Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them; And saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me.” Matthew 4:8-9 KJV …Satan is very persistent and patient when he is presenting his temptations. He never shows anyone the entire picture, but he quickly reveals the game; the fame; the approval of man; the status; the glory; the good times etc that are eagerly accepted by hungry and gullible folks. He says, ‘if you bow down and worship me I will give you these things and I will show you a good time.’ And he does, but he never tells you that his only goal is to steal and destroy you. He is so cunning that he blinds our eyes from the severe consequences of his temptations.
Jesus fully aware that Satan is just a dirty trickster, responded with a quick comeback – “Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.” Matthew 4:10 KJV …. It is sad to imagine that being less than perfect humans as we are, that we will consider playing with the kingdoms Satan offers us, whereas – Jesus didn’t even consider it. We can find ourselves playing games with Satan by grabbing at the stuff he offers, and afterwards turning to God to meet our daily needs. How foolish of anyone to think you can beat Satan at his own game or worse yet to mock God.
We go to bars; clubs; live wild among the ungodly; drink; smoke; wear clothing that will make others question our walk with a Holy God …simply because we trusted Satan when he offered us the deep longing of fame and man’s approval. Then, we come up with great excuses/reasons why there’s nothing wrong in all of the above. It’s just simply insane how deceived some Christians have become …by being gullible to Satan’s schemes. People have been exploited by Satan, and their conscience have become so dull to God’s voice that they are now immune to sin.
Christian Principles VS Worldly Fame. It’s a simple personal test to determine if we want to be true followers of Jesus Christ … “I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present YOUR BODIES a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is YOUR REASONABLE SERVICE. And BE NOT CONFORMED TO THIS WORLD : but be ye transformed by the RENEWING OF YOUR MIND, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.” Romans 12:1-2 KJV
