Unchecked Thoughts

“Above all, be careful what you think because your thoughts control your life.” ‭Proverbs‬ ‭4:23‬ ‭ERV‬‬

I can confirm that the Bible is filled with great advice and instructions to all who will listen and follow its instructions. God cares so much about us that He teaches us how to be a leader in enjoying a healthy, happy and peaceful life. Let’s check what Proverbs 4:23 says:

  1. Above all – meaning…more so than anything else
  2. Be careful – watch carefully, be cautious
  3. What you think  – your thoughts pattern
  4. Your thoughts control your life – where your thoughts go, your mind follows

Much of our thoughts can have a destructive part if left unchecked …resulting in self condemnation; hatred; lies; unbelief; denial; pretense; jealousy; strife; suicide; depression; rage; guilt etc Our Creator, the One who knitted us together in our mother’s womb, understood the challenge we would have as humans living in a fallen and destructive world. So many times during the course of the day when our thoughts are left unchecked – negativity surfaces to the top of our thoughts agenda. Life gets tough … Our non-visible thoughts get tougher to control,  leading us to depression, guilt and anxiety.

God inspired Solomon to write to us to teach us how to get rid of negative thinking. And it was written as an instruction for us – Above all, be careful what you think, because your thoughts control your life.” Proverbs‬ ‭4:23‬ In other words – More than anything else, watch carefully your thought patterns. Because where your thoughts  go, your mind follows. If our mind is always consumed with negative thinking, then we are in trouble. We can become victims or victors depending on our thought patterns.

Our mind is a powerful thing. When we change our thoughts, we can change our mind. Our mind is a terrible thing to waste – and so are our thoughts. When we fill our mind with positive thoughts – our life will take on a whole new meaning. Our happiness, peace and health are totally dependent on our thought pattern. We have the ability and the strength to resist and to block out negative thoughts. Above all else, watch your thoughts – Never leave them unattended. Unattended and careless thoughts are danger zones that can explode and harm many villagers and by default – villages.

What you tell yourself can either lift you up or tear you down. Our mind believes everything we tell it. To become strong, confident and powerful citizens, it’s a good decision to read and meditate on the Word of God –  this simple act builds our FAITH in God who believes in us and wants us to win. The world is filled with negativity and hatred – so it’s wise to have an alternative to the world we live in by believing that God always has our best interest at heart. The Bible can become our daily guide. One scripture a day – keeps the devil away.

  2. The mind is our greatest battle field because this is where most of our battles were fought this is why it is so important for us to renew our mind daily with the reading of God’s word.

    Philippians 4:8
“Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.”

Thanks again June the blog today reminds me of how important it is to remain focus on the word of God.
