The One We Feed – Wins

“The world is unprincipled. It’s dog-eat-dog out there! The world doesn’t fight fair. But we don’t live or fight our battles that way—never have and never will.

The tools of our trade aren’t for marketing or manipulation, but they are for demolishing that entire massively corrupt culture.

We use our powerful God-tools for smashing warped philosophies, tearing down barriers erected against the truth of God, fitting every loose thought and emotion and impulse into the structure of life shaped by Christ.

Our tools are ready at hand for clearing the ground of every obstruction and building lives of obedience into maturity.”

‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭10:3-6‬ ‭MSG‬‬

What does it mean – ‘We live in the world, but we don’t fight our battles in the same way the world does?’ The biggest battle that’s facing the world today is – the battle of the mind. Our thoughts are like the compass of our mind controlling the important decisions in our lives. Without God’s guidance and direction our thoughts can become our biggest enemy, giving way to selfish ambitions. Those who live without the knowledge and fear of God, their minds and hearts are held captive to sin, leading them to commit all manner of sins. The believers in Christ however – have the privilege of our minds be daily renewed by applying God’s Word to our lives, and waiting on God. When we feed our minds on the Word of God, it will only yield to undeniable truth, power, and strength. When we allow our lives to be Christ centered, the battles we daily face will only be done on our knees where Christ takes over and fights for us.

There are some imaginations or thoughts that come to our mind that are in direct opposition to the Word of God. We are alerted in our spirit when our thoughts and imaginations are contrary to God’s Word. When ignored, you can miss it the first and second time leading to rebellion and disobedience. But, if we choose to follow our spiritual convictions – we can take them captive by replacing them with biblical truths nullifying the ill effects of disobedience. A stronghold in our lives can be an ungodly tradition passed down from former generations; it can be an unhealthy relationship; or any habit or thing that keeps us away from reaching our full potential in God.

Imaginations can be good or bad. Imaginations are secret thoughts we ponder on. It’s away from the views of even those who we may sleep next to. It’s those secret things that keep us from getting closer to God. We can become so cold and callous to the idea that God sees our every move and He knows our thoughts before they come to us  – that there’s no longer a fear that we will be held accountable.

We have the power to pull down those vain/ungodly imaginations if we choose to….the choice is ours. God’s Word says in 2 Corinthians 10: 3-6  “The world is unprincipled. It’s dog-eat-dog out there! The world doesn’t fight fair. But we don’t live or fight our battles that way—never have and never will.

  1. Yep! We have to guard our minds.

A thought gives rise to an action; repeated action gives rise to habit formation; habits give rise to character development; character determines destiny. It all began with a thought.

  2. James 4:1-3
What causes fights and quarrels among you? Don’t they come from your desires that battle within you? You desire but do not have, so you kill. You covet but you cannot get what you want, so you quarrel and fight. You do not have because you do not ask God. When you ask, you do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, that you may spend what you get on your pleasures.
