When People and Personalities Collide

“Accept other believers who are weak in faith, and don’t argue with them about what they think is right or wrong.

Yes, each of us will give a personal account to God.”  ‭Romans‬ ‭14:1, 12‬ ‭NLT‬‬

So many times we as humans get caught up fighting over who’s right or wrong. The Bible is very specific in how we’re to approach disagreements.

  1. Don’t argue
  2. Each of us will give a PERSONAL account TO GOD
  3. We will all stand before the judgement seat of God
  4. The Kingdom of God is about living a life of goodness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit
  5. If you believe there’s nothing wrong with what you’re doing, KEEP it BETWEEN YOU and GOD.
  6. DO NOT ARGUE.

EVERYONE has his or hers own personal convictions that is guaranteed NOT to be the same as yours. As I’ve said before – If you believe there’s nothing wrong with what you’re doing, keep it between you and God. Refuse to get into a battle of will powers or words.  You will lose if it’s not your game …

Sometimes personalities clash and creates a flury of unpleasant events. Never let anyone get you to a place where you begin to hate and disrespect them.

  1. Fix in your mind that you will NOT prolong a disagreement until you get the final word
  2. It’s okay to let the other party know that you are not comfortable going back and forth
  3. Don’t take the bait – it’s not what you want to bite at
  4. Stay professional at all times

It’s my strong belief that once there’s a communication going on between you and God – you are ON schedule to becoming victorious.

When there’s a collision of personalities and beliefs – it’s quite normal for the opposition to think that YOU are the problem. Remember, it’s just an ugly painful moment but certainly NOT an ugly painful life. Delivery and tone during a disagreement can be fixed, it’s not permanent. If you decided to hold on to your inner peace therefore there will be no further dialogue. No wood to burn equals no fire to ignite. Peace is better than war.

It may surprise you that some big disagreements originated  from a simple matter, but pride is always the fuel to the argument. Some battles have the potential to destroy everything that you have built – so be on the watch for destructive behavior….

You have the ability within you to bring back the relationship to the former status if both parties are willing to work together.

Life gets complicated when you find yourself at war with someone.

All relationships have disagreements – family, friends, coworkers, neighbors, extended families….but there should be ONE law, ‘Never make anyone who adds value to your life  feel they are no longer relevant because of a simple disagreement.’

No one wins if everyone wants to be right. Pride is the last ingredient added before filing for emotional bankruptcy.

Integrity is everything!

“Finally, all of you should be of one mind. Sympathize with each other.

Love each other as brothers and sisters.

Be tenderhearted, and keep a humble attitude.

Don’t repay evil for evil.

Don’t retaliate with insults when people insult you. Instead, pay them back with a blessing. That is what God has called you to do, and he will grant you his blessing.

Turn away from evil and do good. Search for peace, and work to maintain it.” 1 Peter 3:8-11
