“And when he had taken the book, the four beasts and four and twenty elders fell down before the Lamb, having every one of them harps, and golden vials full of odours, which are the prayers of saints.” Revelation 5:8 KJV
There’s such a calming assurance to confidently know that God has not forgotten you or I when we pray. God is not slack concerning His promises.
The verse today reassures us that there are: 4 beasts and 24 elders kneeling before God’s throne with harps and golden bowls filled with OUR prayers. O what needless pain we bear – all because we do NOT carry, EVERYTHING to God in PRAYER.
Over the years I’ve prayed countless prayers. There are some major and important prayers according to MY schedule that I’m still waiting on God to answer.
However, I’ve certainly come a very long way from becoming impatient and teary eyed about when and how God will answer. One consistent thing I will promise to do and that is …from day to day – I will bring my unanswered prayers back to God.
When my heart is overwhelmed, I will make my way back to God in prayer where I will find my peace. When my spirit becomes troubled and if I lie awake in my bed at night – I will meditate and focus my thoughts back on God. Why? For ALL of my help comes from Him. I am helpless without Him anyway…
When I need an attitude, or thought, or spirit check – I get right into God’s Word and EVERYTHING changes. The Word of God influences my behaviour and thought patterns.
In my CRISIS – I have CHRIST. In my TEST – I always come out with a TESTIMONY. In the biggest MESS – I get a MESSAGE to share with the world. The challenge of the mess and the excitement of victory are unimaginable…hey …the battle is already won.
My confidence comes from having many years of victory with God as the Captain of my ship. He has always heard my cries and He consistently delivered me from ALL my fears.
Patiently waiting on God’s timing to those unanswered prayers is WISDOM.
The golden vials in Heaven are your prayers and my prayers.
God is a faithful God who teaches us to trust Him while we are waiting on the answers to our prayers. He can do it, but our faith GROWS when we have to wait on God – Weak Faith vs Strong Faith.
Our test is only an opportunity for God to know what is in OUR heart (mind) – whether we will KEEP His commandments or not.
Our unanswered prayers are in golden bowls and angels are carrying them to God.
Our permanent position should be: “In peace [and with a tranquil heart] I will BOTH LIE DOWN and SLEEP. For You Alone, O LORD, make me DWELL in safety and CONFIDENT TRUST.”
Psalms 4:8 AMP
