“I do not ask you to take them out of the world, but I do ask you to keep them safe from the Evil One.” John 17:15 GNT
Daily we continue to read the horrible news about our missing girls. Our world is a village. If one child goes missing, we all must agree that one missing child is one too many….#missinggirls
There seems to be a spate of missing girls that is causing a lot of concern and panic in the world today. The missing girls are somebody’s daughter, sister, cousin, niece, best friend etc…one missing girl is too many to simply move along with our everyday lives believing it’s now the new norm.
Imagine losing someone close to you. The pain is excruciating and unfathomable to the families involved and at worst – it’s NOT a movie but sadly it’s reality.
It’s important to take note that we are not in this mess alone – We are reminded today that Jesus is praying that we and our loved ones would be kept safe from the Evil One.
It would be awesome if all our children could live in a ‘special’ community free from all forms of evil. It would be great if as parents we could protect our children 24/7 shielding them from the evil in the world.
But we are daily reminded of the promise from God:
1. “The Lord is near to those who are discouraged;
2. He saves those who have lost all hope.”
Psalm 34:18 GNT
- The Lord is near to those who are discouraged
- He saves those who have lost all hope
- Jesus is praying that we will be kept safe
- He is praying that we may be protected against the Evil One.
There is a concern that some of Christ followers can fall away and become discouraged and give up – but remember…Jesus is praying that our FAITH will NOT fail while we are facing challenging times on earth.
When life gets tough and our faith level drops based on the demonic activities around us – then it’s the sound of the battle call for Christians to unite and call on the Name of God.
It’s important we become as one to fight against the forces of darkness.
Jesus is NOT praying that we should be carried away to a safe place far away from demonic activities. Instead He’s praying that as we remain in the world that we will be kept safe from the dangers that threaten us.
Jesus is praying that we will NOT be overcome by the Evil One and his evil antics.
“I am praying for them,
but not for those who belong to this world.
My followers belong to you, and I am praying for them.”
John 17:9 CEVDCUS06
I don’t have to pretend I know all the answers to the multitude of trouble we face in this world, but one thing I am certain about – Jesus is praying for you and I. He covers us with His prayers.
Because Jesus is praying for us – we will not fail.
“The Lord ‘s people may suffer a lot, but he will always bring them safely through. Not one of their bones will ever be broken.”
It is written:
“and evil persons and impostors will keep on going from bad to worse,
deceiving others and being deceived themselves.
👉🏾👉🏾But as for you, continue in the truths that you were taught and firmly believe.” 👈🏾
2 Timothy 3:13-14 GNTD
