Waiting Is Never Easy – September 4, 2017 πŸ’ƒπŸΎπŸ’ƒπŸΎπŸ’ƒπŸΎπŸ’ƒπŸΎ

β€œDon’t overlook the obvious here, friends. With God, one day is as good as a thousand years, a thousand years as a day.

God isn’t late with his promise as some measure lateness.”

‭‭2 Peter‬ ‭3:8-9‬ ‭MSG‬‬

Waiting on God to answer a prayer is never easy. Full stop. Period.

Sometimes it’s so difficult to hear what God is saying when you are facing a painful situation.

It’s even harder to wait on God when you need God the most.

Waiting is definitely hard work and it can certainly test your faith and your endurance.

Prayers we’ve been praying night and day, day and night, and news we are waiting for….seems like forever for the answers to come our way. Talk about IMPATIENCE at work? That’s impatience at the highest level.

During the waiting process we can become disenchanted and yield to the temptation to give up.

We can become so discouraged and begin to worry and even wonder if God really cares.

I’ve learnt my best lessons in my waiting seasons.

God has taught me some deep hidden truths that did not come easy … but today I can confess “It was worth waiting on God.” I’ve learnt to stand still. I know what it is to absolutely say “The Lord will fight for me and I need only to be still.”

Benefits to waiting on God:

Teaches us Patience. Whether we are waiting in a long line at the bank or waiting on a call – it requires patience. If we decide to walk away then return hours later – chances are the line can get longer or we can even miss the call.

When we CHOOSE to patiently wait on God – hold your posture and stand still. Talking to God while waiting puts your mind at ease that God’s timing always has a better outcome than doing it your way.

When we put our trust in God – we know that God will NOT put us to shame. So we learn Confidence.

Our spouse, our children, our friends can disappoint us …but having an intimate relationship with God proves that His timing and His promises remain valid.

Meditation on God’s Word. One of the biggest hindrances during our waiting periods is Fear.

Fear is crippling.

Fear makes you want to run.

But, they that KNOW THEIR GOD shall never be afraid.

Eyes to see God’s goodness. What you focus on becomes your happiness….when you focus on what we are seeing and what God isn’t doing – we end up miserable, bitter, complaining, and tormented. Count your blessings name them one by one. The best is yet to come.

Finally, I’m on repeat here:
β€œDon’t overlook the obvious here, friends.

With God, one day is as good as a thousand years, a thousand years as a day.

God isn’t late with his promise as some measure lateness.

‭‭2 Peter‬ ‭3:8-9‬ ‭MSG‬‬
