Everyone struggles with painful experiences and memories. No one escapes life’s challenges.
God is NOT unjust to allow me to go through pain and heartaches …and allow you to always enjoy beach days sitting under palm trees drinking coconuts.
Regardless of whatever we are facing in life – God’s Word provides Hope and Strength.
It’s becoming more and more difficult to know when people are hurting.
It seems like the human race has become professionals at masking their hurts. You ask anyone these days – “How are you?” ….and without batting an eye – the response is ALWAYS – “I am fine.”
Some people are great at masking their feelings …while others have their sorrows spilled over their faces.
Some people have been repeatedly hurt that they are no longer comfortable to share their pain.
And those who share their pain – go on an immediate ‘guilt trip’ condemning themselves for exposing their pain.
This scenario can sometimes hit so close to home that even in the married bed, couples are too scared to share their pain.
They are afraid of their pain being rehashed at a future date.
Children are withholding secrets from family members for fear of rejection. And sadly, this list can go on and on….
So how can we help if no one is sharing anymore?
If each one of us become a little more real when dealing with others … maybe we can be the reason somebody believes in the goodness of God.
How can we help somebody to feel like somebody?
By sharing our personal life encounter moments.
I love this passage taken from God’s Word. Maybe, we should replace the name “Simon” with our own name?
“Simon, stay on your toes.”
“June, stay on your toes.”
Satan has tried his best to separate all of you from me, like chaff from wheat.
Simon, I’ve prayed for you in particular that you not give in or give out.
“June, I’ve prayed for you in particular that you not give in or give out.”
Here’s the secret to helping others:
When you have come through the time of testing, turn to your companions and give them a fresh start.”
Luke 22:31-32 MSG
“June, when you have come through the time of testing, turn to your companions and give them a fresh start. In others words – reach back and encourage someone else.”
We never know who need us … so when you have come through your struggles – reach back …reach out …. and help someone else.
