If you don’t believe in yourself, how do you expect others to believe in you?
Sometimes, life gets tough and knocks you down blow after blow. When it rains, it pours … but the test to gaining confidence is, learning to rely on God, and He promises to keep your foot from being caught.
“For the LORD will be your confidence And will keep your foot from being caught.”
Proverbs 3:26 NASB
I’m one of those FEW (LOL) people who wears my heart on my sleeve. If perchance you see me having a pretty rough day – after my first five minutes of being the star of my own ‘pity party’ … don’t be surprised if you find me back on my feet dancing to my own drum beats.
I’m thankful that I have the ability to refocus after a bout of discouragement and get right back on my feet to where I was heading.
Confidence doesn’t come from having a beautiful walk in the park on a warm Summer day. Confidence comes from being knocked down time and time in your Winter days ….but refusing to stay down.
When you go through the hard times and you refuse to give up, that is where confidence quickly turns into strength. So confidence is everything. Confidence gives you power to get back up and go again.
Here are a few of my thoughts on gaining and maintaining confidence:
Stay far away from anything negative. Stay away from anything that depletes your confidence and your peace.
Never give up. I realize very quickly that anything I tell myself about me – I would believe it. So I take a check on my thoughts when I am feeling down.
Make decisions with the full understanding of the consequences. Once your decisions are made – you free yourself up to enjoy your life.
Gratitude. Gratitude. Gratitude. This is huge for me. The level of my confidence stems from my spirit of gratitude. A great place to start is, being thankful that you are not where you used to be emotionally.
Life is full of challenges… but remind yourself that, regardless of the problems, you are special and you deserve to feel good about yourself.
Find people and things you enjoy. Avoid people that make you feel bad about yourself.
