SHALOM

Today, I am wrapping up my Israel Tour 2017.  If you have been following my journey, you may have observed that there were important and frequently visited sites in Israel that I did NOT write about…e.g. – the Dead Sea, Gethsemane, Sea of Galilee, Masada, Mount Carmel, Jordan River, Western Wall (Wailing Wall), and Mount of Olives, and many others…..ALL of which were sites we visited on our trip. 

Reason: My blogging would have gone on F.O.R.E.V.E.R… 

However, I chose to highlight other sites that are less frequently written about with the hope that it will shed some light on other historical parts of Israel that captivated my interest.  

I trust you have enjoyed reading my blogs over the last seven days as much as I have enjoyed writing them. Thanks to my MANY NEW followers who started following me during this time.

NEWS FLASH: My regular blogging will resume. Israel posts were simply to journal my recent trip. 

I end with the famous greeting and farewell word in Israel  – SHALOM. Shalom in Hebrew means PEACE. We are reminded in the Bible to pray for the peace of Jerusalem. 

Psalms 122:6 says, Pray for the peace of Jerusalem. “MAY THOSE WHO LOVE YOU BE SECURE.”

In Acts 1:11 we read – “Men of Galilee”, they said, “Why do you stand here looking into the sky?  This same Jesus, who has been taken from you into heaven, will come back the same way you see him go into heaven.”  

This verse makes me believe that Jerusalem will be the city for Christ’s return to earth. 

We as believers should all be looking forward to Christ’s return. 

The daily news gets increasingly unbearable to listen to; the world is filled with wars and rumors of wars: violence is rampart; there’s no safety anywhere; the economy is awful;the school system has failed us; children are becoming more rebellious; disease and sickness are becoming more incurable, and certainly the signs of hopelessness are all around us. 


Isaiah 9:6 says, “For a child will be born to us, a son will be given to us; AND THE GOVERNMENT WILL REST ON HIS SHOULDERS; AND HIS NAME SHALL BE CALLED WONDERFUL COUNSELOR, MIGHTY GOD, ETERNAL FATHER, PRINCE OF PEACE.” 


Our Shalom (Peace) is found in Christ alone, our HOPE of glory. There’s no peace without Jesus Christ. 


Having peace doesn’t mean that things will be easy. JESUS NEVER PROMISED THINGS TO BE EASY, but HE HAS PROMISED THAT HE WILL BE WITH US TO THE END.





Jesus told us in John 16:33 “I have told you these things, so in me you may have peace. In THIS WORLD YOU WILL HAVE TROUBLE. But TAKE HEART! I have OVERCOME THE WORLD.” 


Finally, no matter whatever we are faced with, we can call on God to give us His peace. His SHALOM has nothing to do with our ability to handle our challenges …. but has more to do with finding our SHALOM in an all wise God.

“The greatest evidence that Jesus did exist is the fact that literally thousands of Christians in the first century A.D., including the twelve apostles, were willing to give their lives as martyrs for Jesus Christ.” 



SHALOM!!!

  1. The ‘series’ was excellent. It married the tour and sites not only with scriptural clarity and confirmation but also with personal relevance and edification.
    This is a gift.
