The Real Fight

Have you ever had a long good cry over a relationship that went south?

Fights can get really nasty and leave deep scars in the process. Dirty fighting is exactly that – it is fighting dirty.

Some fights are like school yard fights where:

There’s name calling

Eye rolling

Regrettable words spoken in anger

Hostility overload

Everyone wants to win

Insecurities bloom

Pride takes center stage

Goals get pushed aside

Commitments are no longer effective

Teamwork is turn into I will do it without your help

Depression steps in through the open door of pain and remorse

Heart rates elevate bringing on anxiety

Lots of sarcasm

In dirty fights there are no winners. Everyone loses.

There’s a story about a man who continually goes down a street and falls into a hole:

A man would go down the street, see a hole, and fall in.

The next day the man walked down the street and saw the hole and fell in again.

The third day the man partially changed his route but eventually still fell in the hole.

The fourth day he altered his route a little but then looked back and fell in the stubborn hole.

Finally when the man became tired of his failure, he decided to walk on the other side of the street.

Enough is enough. He decided to walk on the other side of the street.

When we keep trying to get different results by doing the same thing … it’s called insanity.

When we come to our senses and realize that we don’t have what it takes to fight ….is the more we will rely on God to step in and take over.

He is the God of the final hour when you think you can’t do this again.

We have a choice to fight on our own or give the fight over to God. If we let God fight for us, we will walk away clean.

A three stranded rope isn’t easily snapped – Make God your chosen teammate.
