Give up, Give in, or Give it all You’ve got…

I’m so happy that I was born long before the social media culture became a fad, before cell phones replaced quality family time, and when the internet was unheard of.

I’m grateful that I had a chance to build a firm foundation where integrity and family values played a significant part of my early years.

Those were days when our friends and neighbors were not our competitors. The truth is, those who had less than us played at our home, and those who had more – yep…they also played at our home.

I credit my Mom for building us a safe haven where everyone felt at home in our home.

The only pressure I had growing up was to hold fast to my spiritual values which was a very easy task since my siblings and friends shared the same values.

My confidence was nurtured by my amazing mother who understood without a doubt the value of her children maintaining a personal relationship with God…and she made it her priority.

Without a second thought – it is the only reason why I avoided having an identity crisis in my life.

If our values become twisted or bent out of shape; if we need to wear masks to hide our secrets; if we compromise our values to become part of the crowd…then there will be pieces of our lives that will never fit together leaving us feeling helpless and unhappy.

Our happiness is understanding that we have the power to choose what to accept and what we need to let go.

The secret to maintaining our peace is to turn down the volume of negative emotions and thoughts. Find your tribe and keep loving them. If you find yourself not blooming – change your environment. Time waits on no one – this life will soon be past.

I have proven over and over again that when I pray about everything – God gives me peace.

  1. Today’s distractions are enormous. This is a very targeted perspective. We need to hold fast to our God ordained values. At the end of the day, it is what we do for God and how we stand in His eyes that will count, last and will result in positive transformation.
