Legacy

What are we telling our children or what are we not telling our children?

We are to tell our children that God is faithful and true in everything that He says and does. We can count on His promises – we tell them …then they will tell their children…and their children another generation.

Carrying on legacy demands that we share stories from past generations and ensure that the family values are passed down to future generations. People that do great things often leave behind a legacy.

It doesn’t happen by chance….otherwise it will die. It’s intentional.

Whatever we withhold will die. Whatever we share will live.

Our homes are in shambles and joy and gladness are cut off before our eyes…because no one is taking the initiative to teach the next generation.

Fools despise wisdom and instruction but wise people want to learn more, so they listen closely to gain wisdom.

We are living in desperate times. Immorality is rampant, and there’s a lack of respect in our homes killing off the next generation.

Our destiny and our children’s destiny are in our hands. Who is teaching our children? I hope that I can leave a legacy that my grandchildren will carry on.

Things we should be teaching our children:

■ If we think we are fooling God, we are only fooling ourselves. We will reap whatever we sow

■ Stop comparing yourself with others. Just look at your own work to see if you have done anything to be proud of. You must accept responsibilities for your choices

■ Bad things should happen to bad people, and good things should happen to good people. But sometimes bad things happen to good people, and good things happen to bad people. This is not fair. It is still better to obey and respect God. Period.

■ There’s no one on earth who does good and never sins…but wisdom can make one person stronger than ten mighty men

■ It is better to be happy with what you have than to always want more and more. Always wanting more is like a bottomless pit – you will never be satisfied

■ Always remember that the LORD is with you. He is close by your side, so nothing can defeat you. Even at nights, He gives clear instructions.
