Don’t Compete…Just Run To Win

Recently I began reflecting on my life and the many obstacle courses it took to get me to where I am today. I had flashbacks of my childhood and I remembered vividly missing many school days because I was sickly. I was never a confident person and would not speak up in front of the class. I was the least of the least and someone not many expected much of.

Then I took another walk through my life and thought to myself, the race is not always in favor to the swiftest, but it is designed in such a way for those who will simply remain persistent to the end. Some people are built to last and I am thankful that God saw the best in me when most folks didn’t think much of me.

No one can predict someone’s future… it is God who has determined in advance His will for our lives and we must purpose in our heart to work along with God.

There’s a beginning and an ending to everything that is alive on earth. You may have been birthed in pain and branded with a name that didn’t look especially bright, but once you are determined to win, nothing prevent God from accomplishing His perfect plan for your life. God never made a duplicate of a human being …we are all originals so there’s no need for competition. Just get comfortable being yourself.

Ecclesiastes 9:11 TLB “Again I looked throughout the earth and saw that the swiftest person does not always win the race, nor the strongest man the battle, and that wise men are often poor, and skillful men are not necessarily famous; but it is all by chance, by happening to be at the right place at the right time.”

The tortoise and the hare moral: The hare is very confident of winning the race, so it stops during the race and falls asleep. The tortoise continues to move very slowly but without stopping and finally it wins the race. The moral of the story is that you can be more successful by doing things slowly and steadily than by rushing around doing things carelessly.

I came across the following and it pretty much summarize my main points…hope it helps someone:
If you keep comparing yourself to others and judging others you will always feel like others are competition, it takes a certain level of maturity and growth to finally realise you don’t have any competition.

You are unique, your life purpose is unique and your gifts and talents are unique to you and if you’re being true to yourself you’ll come to a point in your life when you finally work out that your only competition is YOU!

We are all on a journey to become the best versions of ourselves and no one can judge you or try to compete with you for that trophy!
Stop competing and start living your life on your own terms and start living the life you were born to live!”

Go out and conquer your world.
