The World is a Stage

The world is a stage and whether we are ready to perform or not, our lives are being watched in full view by eager spectators. We are the producers, directors and the stars of our own show.

To make sure the judging is unbiased …whatever we bring to the stage will be judged only by our performance and not by our name. The earth with all it’s inhabitants are our judges, so it’s critically important that we are mentally and emotionally prepared for the public’s scrutiny.

If we are mature, our goal should be to minimize our regrets and never allow them to become our lifestyle. Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.

If we bring our best or the worst at the time of crossing the stage … the ratings will have to be accepted whether we win or lose. We all have entrances and exits, and sure enough if perchance anyone misses OUR LIVE production … there’s a place where they can go to gather firsthand facts, videos, and photographs call the archives.

I’m still very confused when I hear a performer say, “Don’t Judge Me.” It’s unrealistic to think that our performances will not be judged. According to the dictionary, judgment is an opinion based on our thoughts … and the evidence presented at the time.

If you saw someone giving food to a homeless person, you would make a good judgment call on his or her character.

On the other hand if we DON’T avoid whatever may be controversial or unclear, we must expect others to make a judgement call. And that’s just how life plays out. We live in a world with values (good and bad), right and wrong … and our actions will be scrutinized whether we agree or not. A bandit will always be judged by his actions whether he pleads innocent or guilty.

We are living in the days of …. ‘Be careful, don’t say a word to nobody about nothing anytime ever’ … and the devil is having a field day destroying our children, our family, and our loved ones. If we truly love people, wouldn’t we tell them about the lion that is roaming around in the neighborhood or the toilet tissue that got stuck under their shoes?

If their relationship with Christ is being put at risk … should we choose to stay silent for fear of offending them? In my opinion it’s accountability that counts … if they will listen or not… it’s totally up to them. Sensible people will see trouble coming and avoid it, but an unthinking person will walk right into it and regret it later.

Our choices today will determine the number of regrets we will have in the next five years. If you have to choose between a good reputation and great wealth, choose a good reputation.
