The Conversation got Started

It’s so easy to become anxious when things aren’t moving along as quickly as we would like them to. We have had our seasons of disappointment and setbacks that make us fear that maybe things are never going to happen.

Since we will never be able to completely get rid of biting our nails and sitting at the edge of our seats …we will have to learn healthy ways to live during those seasons.

“How can a person deal with anxiety? You might try what one fellow did. He worried so much that he decided to hire someone to do his worrying for him. He found a man who agreed to be his hired worrier for a salary of $200,000 per year. After the man accepted the job, his first question to his boss was, ‘Where are you going to get $200,000 per year?’ To which the man responded, ‘That’s your worry’”

I’ve come to the conclusion that whatever is going to happen will happen, whether I become anxious or not. Knowing that I do not HAVE to do life without God quickly snaps me out of the what ifs.

God never promised anyone an easy life…but He did promise that He WILL be with us every step of the way. I am a living testimony that God gives strength for life’s journey. Seriously, if it wasn’t for God on my side, I don’t know where I would have been.

Lessons I’ve learned in my walk with God:

Tune out the negative voices that interrupt your peace. Satan’s thoughts bring accusation, doubt, fear, misery, destructive thoughts and anything evil. So, block them out. They lead to greater anxiety and hopelessness.

God’s voice speaks peace, comfort, wisdom, healing to a hurting heart. It’s always gentle and reasonable. Always uplifting and empathetic. God’s voice gives you guidance and stability. Fear decreases in God’s presence.

In the Bible, Satan is constantly bringing doubt by saying, “Did God really tell you … ?” It’s a great time to get him off your back with a quick response, “Yes, God did and there’s nothing you can do about it.”

Learn to know God’s voice like you know your family members voices. Learn to relax knowing with confidence that God will not leave in the middle of the conversation. We always know when a conversation is coming to an end…it leaves no question unanswered, and you get all the information needed to go on. Stay with God until the conversation is over.

If the conversation lasts from sunset to daybreak, or night to day … it makes no difference. The conversation stills goes on in the car, on a plane, in the grocery store, in the shower, and in the bed at nights.

Time spent with God is never wasted. Some conversations take a longer time based on the topic…so be patient. If God keeps us in conversation for two days or a month or years…it means He still have more to say…so we will sit still.

Whatever your present anxiety may be … God’s timing is perfect. Keep the conversation going and don’t interrupt with your deadlines. If God is speaking, wait on Him to finish. Do not panic…with the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day. The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness.

Whatever God says…Do! If God gives you REST … then REST. God always finishes the conversation with four words – “It will be well.”
