Don’t take the Bait

There are fights you will win and fights you will lose, but every fight doesn’t need an active participant. One great benefit to having a personal relationship with God — He coaches you in a fight. Sometimes the LORD says, “Do NOT GO to war for I am NOT among you, lest you be defeated before your enemies.” And there are times when He says, “Go in and take possession.”

Many times, in the heat of the moment we’re eager to put up a fight for justice. We climb the Mountain of Resentment before even talking it over with God. It’s okay to discuss our fights with God. He coaches us and we know nothing hinders the plans of God — and we sleep better at nights.

Only a person who has limited knowledge of who God is thinks they can hide things from God including their thoughts. The Bible says that God knows our thoughts even before they wander into our mind. It should be less intimidating to talk to God — He knows it all anyway. The LORD searches our hearts and understands all the imaginations of our minds even when we are in a fight mode.

If we bring all our secret thoughts to God, He will coach us revealing the deep hidden secrets of the issues at hand. But if we choose NOT to seek counsel and go to war without God’s input… the enemies who come out against us will chase us as bees do and drive us back. Then we will return and weep before the LORD, but the LORD would not listen to our voice. Deuteronomy 1:42-45

Many times, in the pain we rush ahead and take matters in our own hands. Every fight does not need an active participant. The enemies we see today we will see them no more IF we allow God to coach us. He will show us new strategies and in stillness and in confidence will be our strength.

We can pray the WORD of the LORD in the hour of need. The world says, ‘Count to ten’ … I say, ‘We will always be at our best when we pray the WORD.’

Psalms 139:1-12, 17-18, 23-24 (NCV)

“Lord, you have examined me and know all about me. You know when I sit down and when I get up. You know my thoughts before I think them. You know where I go and where I lie down. You know everything I do.

Lord, even before I say a word, you already know it. You are all around me—in front and in back—and have put your hand on me. Your knowledge is amazing to me; it is more than I can understand.

Where can I go to get away from your Spirit? Where can I run from you? If I go up to the heavens, you are there. If I lie down in the grave, you are there. If I rise with the sun in the east and settle in the west beyond the sea, even there you would guide me.
With your right hand you would hold me. I could say, “The darkness will hide me. Let the light around me turn into night.” But even the darkness is not dark to you. The night is as light as the day; darkness and light are the same to you.

God, your thoughts are precious to me. They are so many! If I could count them, they would be more than all the grains of sand. When I wake up, I am still with you.

God, examine me and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. See if there is any bad thing in me. Lead me on the road to everlasting life.”

Do the right thing even when no one is listening or looking.
