Sometimes it’s easier for some of us to bury our heads in the sand than to hear a diagnosis, or to be the receiver of bad news, or face an awkward situation. We at times avoid unpleasant situations by burying our heads in the sand rather than face the ugly realities of life. We prefer to stay in bed hoping that seasons like these will quickly pass by while we are lying low.
When we bury our heads in the sand is like wanting to distance ourselves from anything that may be too painful or stressful to deal with. Having courage means we must overcome the fear and intimidation … step inside the ring … hold your head high and put up a good fight.
It’s a fact that Satan wins everytime we keep our heads buried in the sand or turn a blind eye to things that we should be confronting. It’s time for your comeback -“Do not gloat over me, my enemy! Though I have fallen, I will rise. Though I sit in darkness, the LORD will be my light. Micah 7:8 NIV
When we face life’s difficult problems … we live to fight another day. When we refuse to attend to matters of importance it never goes away, but it daily steal our happiness and limits our ability to move on.
Courage says, “I will be brave and bold for I’ve come too far to give up now.” Let’s take our head out of the sand and face whatever lies before us. Goliath looked bigger than God to King Saul and his powerful army … but David the shepherd boy knew his God was bigger than the giant.
Faith makes the difference in size. I love this quote that says, ‘DON’T TELL GOD HOW BIG YOUR MOUNTAIN IS. TELL YOUR MOUNTAIN HOW BIG YOUR GOD IS.”
The only time we should bow our heads is when we are praying. I’ve said this prayer so many times to God, “My Father, if it is possible, may this cup be taken from me. Yet not as I will, but as you will.” God answers a sincere prayer. He knows when we are exhausted from the long fights but He hears us saying by faith, “Yet not as I will, but as You will.”
The little we know about life tells us that anything that has happened from way back then up to the present time cannot be changed … it is what it is. All we can do is to ask God for wisdom to turn our Fear into a Crown and our Fight into a Message. When you can’t stand, kneeling is a great option. God will listen! He will help!
You’ll decide what YOU want! It will HAPPEN! YOUR life will be a bright light. Job 22:28
Hillsong Worship sings a song “This is how we overcome” and it has been my comeback song on many occasions when I’m exhausted from the fights. Hope you will find a moment in your day and checkout YouTube and sing along as a confession of your stand. The lyrics are below:
“Your light BROKE through my night … RESTORED exceeding joy. Your GRACE fell like the rain … And MADE this desert live. You have TURNED my mourning into dancing. You have TURNED my sorrow into joy. Your hand LIFTED me up … I STAND on higher ground. Your praise ROSE in my heart … And made this valley SING. You have TURNED my mourning into DANCING. You have turned my sorrow into JOY. You have turned MY mourning into dancing. YOU have turned my sorrow into joy. This is HOW we overcome … This is how we OVERCOME … This is how WE overcome … THIS is how we overcome.”
When you can’t stand … DON’T bury your head in the sand. You can ALWAYS pray. God WILL listen! He will HELP!
We serve a great and mighty GOD! HE sees. HE knows. HE cares. 🙇 👭 💞
