Love is Shown in Different Ways

Love doesn’t always have to be in a romantic form. It’s not being sex-driven or being flirtatious. There are roughly 6,500 languages spoken in the world today according to Google. Yet love is a universal language that the whole world understands. Love can be trusted by the way you think about others whether it’s a family member, a friend or a stranger.

There are many ways to show someone that you care. Love is not always verbal or written but it is always observed. Small acts like giving up your seat to someone; your time; or a simple smile or nod can convey love without saying one word. Love has many pure ways of demonstrating and communicating without being flirtatious.

Showing love can be done in little ways or big ways, but all the ways add up and can send a loud clear message that people matter. Humans have gotten cold, heartless and self-centered. People use people and love things. It’s a kind of ‘Me first’ generation where even the kids and family members are now put at risk.

I want to believe that many people have felt and known love, and some have given love and had it return in heartwarming ways. The expression of love is good both ways as a receiver and a giver. Love doesn’t have to be romantic or sex-driven to show you care. Love can be pure and genuine, and the most amazing thing about love is, it speaks in many languages.

Love sometimes shows up dressed in many ways:

Give a family member breakfast in bed

Compliment someone

Pick up lunch for someone

Drive safely

Walk beside someone who is falling

Write an encouraging note

Leave a message that can be replayed as often as the person needs to listen to it

Do a favor without asking for anything in return

Write a thank you note

Call when you get to your destination

Random acts of kindness

Clean up someone else’s mess

Hold the door open for someone

For those who struggle to fit in, include them without telling the world

Understand that good people get tired doing good deeds too

Note well – You can only give from an overflow so:

Go buy the shoes

Keep your appointment at the Spa

Find your passion

Enjoy a meal with yourself

Say ‘No” confidently

Get your hair done

Give but don’t allow yourself to be used

Walk away from failed relationships

Don’t be fake, it hurts more

You don’t have to figure it all leave something for God to do

AHA MOMENT:

A person who is nice to you but is not nice to the cleaner/server/gas station attendant/your parents is not a nice person

Most people just need a listening ear not a therapy session

Forgive yourself if you fail to meet your standard at least you’re trying to do what’s right

Be nice to the stranger they may be your doctor/nurse one day

Limit your time with anything that’s draining you

Learn from the mistakes of others, no one gets to live long enough to make them all for themselves

No one can help everyone, but everyone can help someone

Love is better when shown than when spoken. The most important part is that love is shown, and it doesn’t have to be romantic or sex-driven or flirtatious.
