Learn from our Past

What would it take to get people’s attention today? Earthquake? The sun becoming black or the moon becoming like blood? Every mountain and island moving out of its place?

When Christians talk about the return of Jesus Christ the world says, ‘We are playing on people’s emotions.’

Watching fear based news holding the world hostage while the stations increase their ratings – no one grumbles and complain that they are a money making industry breeding fear into the lives of the most vulnerable people.

Revelation 6:12-17 says, “And the kings, the great men, the rich men, the commanders, the mighty men, every slave and every free man, hid themselves in the caves and in the rocks of the mountains, and said to the mountains and rocks, ‘Fall on us and hide us from the face of Him who sits on the throne and from the wrath of the lamb! For the great day of His wrath has come, and who is able to stand?”

My friends, when you lose your peace, you lose your strength. When you lose your strength, it’s hard for your heart to go on. Most robbers of peace come from news, social media and the overload of text messages. How much more breaking news can one person tolerate to know that the world is facing a pandemic war?

Fear opens the floodgates to anxiety and anxiety leads to hopelessness. Humans feel that they can predict and find solutions to every crisis that the world faces, but the truth is, Jesus warned us that in the last days before He returns men’s hearts will be failing them for fear of bad news.

And the lofty looks of man shall be humbling, and the haughty will be bought down low. We tend to let our guards down when things are normal until we are blindsided by a curve ball that send us running for protection.

Peace robbers come a dime a dozen and if we don’t press the stop/delete button it can lead to great depression. From the moment our feet hit the floor in the morning there are emails of fear waiting to be opened, text messages of doom and gloom waiting to be read, and phone calls loaded with ammunition of uncertainty and panic.

So, what is God doing? Shaking things up a bit so we can find our way back to Him. Everything we worked hard for and the entertainment we enjoyed will all be pointless as we witness every country closing its borders. The things that displeased God and caused God’s face to be turned hopefully will get our attention to seek God’s forgiveness.

Hell is real and it’s worse than living in a city where everyone is afflicted with COVID-19 and there’s no medical help in sight. The purpose of all the disasters we have lived through in our lifetime were to prepare us for Jesus Christ return. But, it looks like many missed their turning point.

Our loving and forgiving God must wake this world up and expose the evil that leaders and others have been turning a blind eye to. The Lord is watching the wickedness on the earth and the evil that’s getting worse with every generation.

Could God be so grieved to see His creation destroying themselves and their images being changed with each passing day? Why does God hate sin? It goes against everything that He stands for.

Let’s pray for each other. Keep your eyes open. Keep each other encouraged so no one is left behind. Be prepared to finish strong. We are up against far more than we can handle on our own so call on Jesus. We must learn to be disciplined.

Do everything that’s humanly possible not to feed the fear but to feed our faith in God. Stay Focus on God!

It’s prayer time:

Jesus, you said that you will leave your peace with us, not the peace the world has to offer us but YOUR peace to sleep in the season of COVID-19. Help us not to get hold of anxiety and fear but to hold on to You. Thank you Jesus, for your peace. Amen
