For unto us a child was born, unto us a son was given, and the government shall be on his shoulder, and his name shall be called WONDERFUL COUNSELLOR, THE MIGHTY GOD, THE EVERLASTING FATHER, THE PRINCE OF PEACE.
Someone had to come to earth to defeat Satan. Someone had to live their entire life without sinning. And Jesus volunteered.
For God so loved the world that He gave his only Son, that whosoever believes in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
Sin created a separation between God and man, and because the wages of sin is death, Satan, who had control of death, had everyone of us under his control.
Humans were struggling with sin and there was only one answer – Someone had to come to earth to defeat Satan. Someone had to live their entire life without sinning, and Jesus volunteered.
When He died on the cross, Satan lost his grip/hold on man. When Jesus hung on the cross and died, Satan thought it was over and God’s plan was unsuccessful.
But Satan was completely wrong. On the third day Jesus rose from the dead, snatched the keys of death and became the mediator between God and man.
Because of Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross you and I are no longer slaves to sin. Satan no longer has control over us because we have a mediator name Jesus Christ.
And so my friends – this is the good news of Good Friday. The price for our forgiveness of sin was paid in full. Death couldn’t hold Him in the grave. Sin cannot hold you to its folly and shame. Jesus made a way so we can walk free.
Jesus gave up everything so we can have everything. Jesus did not come to be served but to serve. The devil has no rights to control us. Jesus has given us the freedom to choose not to sin.
Let’s make this Good Friday the day we choose Jesus Christ. No one can go to the Father but through Jesus. Heaven and Hell is real. Heaven and Hell is single file.
