Today’s Topic: There is a Set Plan
If you have one depressing thought about your future tell that thought to go back to hell because that’s exactly where it came from. If you’re experiencing any of the following signs in a recurring manner – feeling nervous, restless, panic, breathing rapidly, sweating, trembling, feeling weak or tired, trouble concentrating or overthinking – can I tell you they are obvious signs you have been spending a lot of time in the wrong room.
2020 is by no stretch of imagination a different year for everyone but it may be helpful to remember that God nevertheless has a plan for our lives despite what looks like a very bad nightmare.
John 17:9 says, “I pray for them now. I am not praying for the people in the world. But I am praying for these people you gave me, because they are yours.”
All of us have experienced some form of setbacks this year. We had high expectations and for reasons beyond our control – things just didn’t work out. Remember – Jesus is praying for you.
Your setbacks will become your greatest comeback. Be encouraged – God is going to use your setbacks. We are going to learn from every disappointment we face.
Take courage – it’s not the end of your story – it’s not the end of 2020. Hang in there – God is still in control. Three things God cannot do – lie, fail, or turn His back on you.
Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
In the midst of hardship and troubling uncertainty God’s plan to prosper and give you a bright future will not be changed. Everything is still running on schedule even if it doesn’t appear that way.
Our mind/intellect/brain/reasoning – DOES NOT produce faith. Faith overrides our emotions. Faith is a decision to stand on God’s promises.
I would rather live everyday believing God has a plan to prosper and not to harm me than to live all day everyday – sweating, trembling, feeling weak or tired, trouble concentrating or overthinking.
Philippians 4:7 ‘Then God’s peace will watch over your hearts and your minds. He will do this because you belong to Christ Jesus. God’s peace can never be completely understood.’
The Lord is close to you. Do not be anxious about anything, but pray about everything, remembering to give thanks for everything. God’s peace will go beyond your understanding and will keep guard over your heart and your mind.
PRAYER TIME: Gracious and loving God, I get scared and nervous about the future. But I know that the future is in Your hands. Be with me as I go through 2020. Help me to make good decisions and be with me each step of the way today, tomorrow, and in the years to come. In Jesus Name, Amen
