Grown Up Conversations – Thursday – Video

This week I shared  four (4) chapters from my book Grown Up Conversations. I totally enjoyed sharing with you and I hope you did too. Thanks to everyone who interacted and made the conversations very interesting.

There’s NO me WITHOUT you.

This week we looked at four chapters:

  • Stop! Look! Listen
  • Don’t take the Bait
  • The Bitter Root

Today’s Topic: Overwhelmed with Fear

I’ve learned that sometimes in life that you can’t ever expect everything to go the way you planned. Sometimes, you can have a well-thought-out day and then the unexpected happens throwing you a curve ball leaving you in a quandary  – “Where did this come from?”  The question isn’t whether or not life will throw you a curveball – it’s just a matter of when.

I’ve been blindsided so many times with varied curve balls and yet through them all I have become a better version of myself because with God there are no other plans but Plan A. We as humans think there are many plans as the letters in the alphabet but with God – His plan is always THE ONLY PLAN which is Plan A.

When you are exhausted from life throwing you curve ball after curve ball watch out for those whacky, crazy emotions that send you sobbing in a corner. Patience is defined as having the capacity to accept or tolerate delay, trouble, or suffering without getting anxious.

Quote: “Strength isn’t about how much you can handle BEFORE you break. It’s about how much you can ENDURE AFTER you’ve been broken.”

You may not know what to do but God always knows what to do. You may be mocked and made fun of, but God hasn’t left your side. You may have been tossed around but you will never be broken. You will survive the hits and misses just like the countless other times when there were curve balls.

Proverbs 4:23-27 “Keep vigilant watch over your heart; that’s where life starts. Don’t talk out of both sides of your mouth; avoid careless banter, white lies, and gossip. Keep your eyes straight ahead; ignore all sideshow distractions. Watch your step, and the road will stretch out smooth before you. Look neither right nor left; leave evil in the dust.”

Overwhelmed by Fear?

  1. Be cautious what you deposit in your heart that’s where life starts
  2. Slow down on your responses
  3. Avoid  reckless chatter – white lies and gossip
  4. Stay focus and leave wicked schemes behind

FINALLY, IGNORE ALL SIDESHOWS DISTRACTIONS AND DRAMAS!!!

Prayer Time: Jesus, thank You for Your Word which is like a light guiding me where to walk and a two-edged sword carefully cutting away at the things that cause me to stumble into fear. Teach me to avoid reckless chatter and all sideshows distractions. Thank you when I do not know what to do, I can depend on You leading the way. In Jesus Name, Amen
