Understand the Journey
We are all on a journey from the moment we took our first breath until we take our last breath. It’s a journey filled with hugs and kisses at birth, teenage lessons, adulting classes, grandparent’s days, 50’s, 60’s and beyond celebrations, and you can safely throw in all kinds of ‘I really don’t know when things changed’ days.
Life has taught us a lot about our strengths, weaknesses, values, principles, and morals. We are the sum total of all the experiences we have undergone in life. A good friend told me this week and I had to laugh out loud – “June, the devil is patient.” What a powerful thought. I repeat – The Devil is patient. He will fire out attacks after attacks regardless of who you are – until he gets you to surrender.
He attacks your mind. He gets you to be at war with family members, friends, co-workers, your exes – ferociously arguing over big and small matters. And if that’s not enough he blindsides you with a heavy doze of bad news sending you down a rabbit hole.
Psalms 25:4-5 says, “Show me how you work, God; School me in your ways. Take me by the hand; Lead me down the path of truth. You are my Savior, aren’t you?”
When we want to learn something, we ask for help. David the Psalmist asked God to show him how He works and to lead him down the path of truth. When family relationships or your finances are in shambles – TRUTH oftentimes get lost in the commotion. As rookies we need to ask God to show us how He works and lead us down the path of truth.
Complaining about a problem, without pursuing God’s truth is called whining. God is fair and He corrects us when we are going down the wrong pathway sending us in the right direction as He did with the Psalmist David. The only way to win the wars where Satan is the mastermind is to stop playing in his playground.
A WORD TO THE WISE – Never find yourself at war with anyone to see who can hate the most.
Everything you do in life will echo back to you so let go of what is hurting your heart and allow God to show you His secrets. What you sow, you will reap so sow good seeds because they will show up on your table. What you give, you get so be careful with your words they make up your bed at nights.
Never blame anyone for the choices you make because only you will live with the consequences. Living in the past and rehashing the unhappy experiences are the quickest way to throw away your ticket to life.
Appreciate your journey of life – there are many dead people who would do ANYTHING to start all over again.
PRAYER TIME: Father, thank You for this life that you have set aside for me. I choose to daily walk in Your truth. I’m honored that You have chosen me above many others to be alive today. Let me do the best I can with Your help. In Jesus Name, Amen
