MONDAY 3rd WEEK NOVEMBER GROWN UP CONVERSATIONS

Today’s Topic: Stop Touching the Wound

When we were children, we dramatized every minor cut. Our mothers would tell us –“Stop touching the cut!” A mother knows that for the healing process to take place naturally you need to stop touching the cut if not – it will become infected making it a lengthy recovery.

So, my beloved – to heal a hurt, you simply need to stop touching it.

That pain that’s tearing you apart – stop revisiting it over and over again. As we trust Jesus Christ as our true healer, we will find He gives us special grace, and our pain turns to courage.

The scars are reminders that you have survived your deepest wounds and came out stronger. Be relentless in your faith in God and His grace will prove to be sufficient.

The world needs more heroes and less wounded victims.

John 5:2-9 – Hundreds of sick people—blind, crippled, paralyzed—were in these cubicles. One man had been crippled for thirty-eight years. When Jesus saw him stretched out by the pool and knew how long he had been there, he said to him – “Do you want to get well?”

The sick man said, “Sir, when the water is stirred, I don’t have anybody to put me in the pool. By the time I get there, somebody else is already in.”

Jesus said, “Get up, take your mat and start walking.”

The Bible says that the man was healed on the spot. He picked up his mat and walked away. Your life and my life will be much easier and lighter if you didn’t have to carry around our pain.

Jesus still asks the same question today – “Do you want to get well?”

God promises to turn fear into faith and courage.

Do you want to get well? Follow the instructions – Get up from your place of pain and have faith in God. Make your way to Jesus even if you are stumbling through the tears that make you blind. Wounds sometimes are so painful that there are no words to express how you truly feel but I can confidently tell you that God can interpret those tears.

Don’t be angry. God will find you in your darkest moments. His love is overwhelming when you sit in His presence. You will feel strength coming back into your spirit giving you hope. It’s not the end – it’s actually the beginning of a new season. Don’t become a prisoner of war to the pain that held your attention for years. Pick yourself up and allow healing to take place.

God daily renews our hopes and heals our bodies. God decided how many stars there would be in the sky and gave each one a name. He knows your name and has already positioned you for your healing. God understands everything. He wants to help.

PRAYER TIME: Father, thank You for healing my wounds. Today, I choose to walk in your healing knowing that my best days are now here.  In Jesus Name, Amen.
