Keep Calm
Someone said, “Not all storms come to disrupt your life, some come to clear your path.” Some of us are either in the eye of the storm, coming out of a storm or heading into a storm. But everyone will have to walk through a storm. Storms are part of life.
Sometimes things don’t usually add up and life seems unfair. In times like these Satan makes a bold and daring move on your mental state targeting your thoughts. It’s called ‘The Great Debate’ where you are the audience, the judge, and the only participant having an intense dialogue with an unknown person in your head.
There are periods in life when you feel pressed, crushed, stressed, squeezed, tested beyond human capacity and wonder how long again until this end. Hang in! Train your mind to hear what God is saying and not what your emotions are screaming at you. Before you overthink, pray. When God says that He is with you to the end, trust the process.
One of Satan’s biggest tricks is making you feel that your world is caving in and things are not okay. Whatever your problem is just do not rehearse it. Hand it over to God and He will reverse it.
God reminds us in Deuteronomy 33:27 that the everlasting God is a refuge, and underneath you are his eternal arms. God isn’t about to leave you in your most vulnerable moments. His everlasting arms are underneath to catch you if you feel like you are falling.
Speak God’s Word over and over again until you are no longer believing anything other than God’s promises. Your defense is always the Word of God never your views or opinions. Proverbs 3:5 “Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways submit to Him and He will make your paths straight.”
Easiest ways to know the different voices that play in your head:
- God is the God of peace. Satan creates confusion.
- God speaks clearly when we are quiet. Satan creates fear and keeps us busy.
- God speaks encouragement. Satan speaks discouragement.
Finally, if you don’t read your Bible you will become obsessed with everything that God doesn’t want you to be preoccupied with. Satan is after your mind, your attitude, your faith, and your peace. Psalms 62:1-2 says, “Truly my soul finds rest in God; my salvation comes from him. Truly he is my rock and my salvation; he is my fortress, I will never be shaken.”
Quote: “Sometimes, you just have to bow your head, say a prayer, and weather the storm.”
PRAYER TIME: Father, thank you that we are grownups now. We will no longer throw tantrums when we don’t fully understand your plan. We are wiser today as we learn to be still and put all our fears into your hand. Help us to face everything with courage and may we walk in integrity and truth. In Jesus Name, Amen
