God is Making All Things New
Why is it important to guard our mind and our heart? Because whatever we hear or see is not the easiest thing in the world to forget. Someone said, “Old ways won’t open new doors.” I say, “Do not unlock your door to entertain unwanted thoughts.”
Let us promise ourselves that this year starting from TODAY that each one of us will be working on a new way of thinking. Stop sitting on the steps picking up trashy conversations. Set boundaries so uninvited guests would not just walk in and offload negativity. Stop making promises to change. Act Now! Be brave enough to heal yourself from things that were deposited into your mind or heart.
Many of us have fought silent battles and walked out of the fire not smelling like the smoke. It’s called GOD.
Isaiah 43:18 God says, “Forget about what’s happened; don’t keep going over old history. Be alert, be present. I’m about to do something brand-new. It’s bursting out! Don’t you see it? There it is!”
I tell people all the time that God is not a genie in a bottle where you rub the bottle and speak to it and the genie pops the answer you were waiting, and you run away and never come back. God has certain conditions that must be met before our prayers can be answered.
The Bible says, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son that whosever believes in Him will not perish but have everlasting life.” We all were created with a void inside of us and that void is where Jesus Christ fills. Fill your life with things of God. If we ever needed to do so is now. Too much trash talk is floating around in the atmosphere.
Secondly, if we refuse to give up doing things we should not be doing and continue to ignore God’s voice we cannot expect things to change or for Him to answer our prayers. We do need to do our part if God is going to work in our lives.
Quoting scriptures and praying WITHOUT walking in obedience to God become ineffective to the healing of your mind. God is a God of love, and He is interested in every detail of our lives. He hears our prayers and answers every sincere prayer when we walk in obedience to Him.
Proverbs 3:5-6 says, “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy paths.”
The question is, who are you trusting to make all things new? How are you ever going to forget what has happened to you?
It’s nice to take an afternoon nap without a worry and to enjoy a good night sleep without feeling the need to panic over things people said or done to you. What a friend we have in Jesus because He is always right there with you. He will keep you safe, sound, and keep your mind in perfect peace. God never sleeps nor slumber. He’s keeping watch over those peace stealers that infiltrate our thoughts.
PRAYER TIME: Dear God, thank you for being a true friend. Thank you for ministering your peace whenever we need your strength to fight off unhealthy thoughts. Help us to take one day at a time and not to trust our own understanding of the matters before us. Thank you, God, for a year of new beginnings. In Jesus Name, Amen
