What Will it Cost You?
God gives us all a measure of faith. God knows how strong that faith is. We often find out just how strong our faith really is when we have to trust Him. The Bible says in Romans 14, “Whatever is not of faith is sin.” If you have ever hit rock bottom and ended up between a rock and a hard place and your faith goes into overdrive God is incredibly proud of you.
For people with a solid faith in God at this point are not just repeating scriptures. They don’t need reasons or explanations for why they have chosen to trust God. They understand that the Lord tests their level of faith by putting them in situations pass any human capacity. At that point in time faith increases.
There are many people who believe they have faith until they are faced with heart wrenching situations. It’s easy to quote scriptures, recite a prayer, or talk boldly about having faith but when our faith is being tested it is never an easy process, it can either destroy us or it can build us.
We live in an age where some people are full of doubts about this measure of walking in faith and trusting God when they cannot see the entire picture, while those who choose to use their measure of faith live with full confidence that regardless of what they see or not see they will trust God.
Romans 8:35-39 “Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter. Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
Absolutely nothing should separate us from following and loving God. It’s like a marriage vow “For better or for worse. For richer or for poorer. In sickness and in health. Till death.”
Can you secretly list 10 things that will NOT separate you from the LOVE OF GOD?
Here are some examples to consider :
1. Death of a loved one
2. Divorce
3. Illness
4. Famine
5. Loss of a job
6. Emotional challenges
7. Abuse
8. Fear and Uncertainty
9. Changes to life
10. Threaten with death if you do not deny your Christian Faith
Sometimes the season in our lives can be longer than anticipated but be patient, God is always on time. Like Queen Esther said, “If I perish, I perish.”
1 Corinthians 15:58 says, “Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.”
Prayer Time: Father, help us not to become weary in trusting you. We will not give in. We will not give up. We will encourage and help each other stand firm in our measure of faith. When we do not know what to do Lord, we will keep our eyes on you. In Jesus Name, Amen
