Time is in God’s Hand
The dictionary meaning of delay is, to wait until later. Sometimes, our prayers are not answered immediately, and this can make us heart sick as Proverbs 13:12 says, “Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but a longing fulfilled is a tree of life.” Having a purpose gives you something to live for.
Sure, we all wish we won’t have to wait on God but with God, one day is as good as a thousand years, a thousand years as a day. God is not like man. There have been times in my own life where God gave me a promise. The promise was so surreal that I knew it was from Him, but I had to come to terms with the truth that He is God and at the right time He’ll make it happen.
Days do look like years but to God our years are like days. God gave Sarah a promise, but guess what? It took a very long while before He carried out that promise. Sarah waited years for a child, and God gave her a godly son by the name of Isaac. And like Sarah our greatest blessings will be the ones that we’ve been waiting on for years.
Proverbs 3:5-6 says, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take.”
When you fix your minds on the problem rather than trusting God’s timing it’s hard to live an abundant life. You wait years to graduate just to get a degree. Google says it takes athletes 3,000 to 7,000 hours to reach world-class status after four to seven years of purposeful training to get to the Olympics. Then, why can’t we wait on God?
David says in Psalms 31: 14-15 “But I trust in you, Lord; I say, “You are my God.” “My times are in your hands; deliver me from the hands of my enemies, from those who pursue me.”
Take comfort in knowing that our minutes, hours, days, weeks and years are in God’s hands. God has a plan and a purpose in keeping us here.
God’s will, plan, and purpose will be fulfilled. Someone said, “God’s delay is not God’s denial.” Keep the faith. There is one thing that God says to His children regardless of how serious the situation may be, “Trust Me.’ The delay is not a denial. It’s taking longer than you expected but our times are in His hands. Remain faithful.
The sun will never go down, and the moon will never disappear until you see the LORD’s goodness in this present life. Be patient while you wait for the Lord. He hears your cry and will answer you.
PRAYER TIME: Father, teach us to wait patiently for you and to be strong and courageous. In Jesus Name, Amen
Reminder: As children of God, be confident when the time is right it will happen. In our waiting God is working on the inside of you teaching you all you need to learn about Him.
