MAY 13 GROWN UP CONVERSATIONS

Happy People

If you are missing happiness in your life, it absolutely makes a lot of sense. We were created with a void/emptiness that was deliberately left by our Creator. Happy people involve God in everything. Happy people pray about everything. Happy people see God all around and the void/emptiness shrinks in size. Happy people know that everyone wasn’t raised like them and they are okay with that.

Happy people cling to God’s Word rehearsing it in their heart knowing that regardless of what happens ‘it is well with their soul.’ Happy people aren’t easily offended. Proverbs 12:16 “Foolish people are easily upset. But wise people pay no attention to hurtful words.” Happy people set healthy boundaries. They will speak up but never disrespect anyone.

Happy people know that God’s plan stands up to every test of life and all His purposes will be fulfilled. From where God sits high up, He looks down on all the earth and watches everything. Happy people pray for others because they know that everyone is fighting a battle that no one knows about. They choose being kind over being right.

Happy people know that they are the apple of God’s eye and that He will protect them in bad times. They trust God to keep watch over them day and night and they sleep well at nights. Happy people ignore nonsense and laugh more. They know it’s not their job to change anyone and they have a peace within.

Happy people know how to dance while the storm is raging and leave everyone wondering how they do it. Philippians 4:7 “And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” They live to be happy and not to impress. Happy people trust God as the author of their lives and confidently know their story has a happy ending.

There was a little song we learned as children – “A time to be happy is now, the place to be happy is here, and the way to be happy is to make others happy and create a little heaven right here.” Happy people make others feel happy and they create a happy environment wherever they go. Happiness is doing what feels right in your heart, making others happy, and do what pleases God.

Somebody once said, “A smile increases your face value.” There is nothing nicer than someone smiling at you and you smiling back at them. Happy people say to themselves, “What a wonderful world.”

Happy people love people and want to see everyone winning. They walk side by side and will carry the weak ones when summoned.

One of the religious teachers asked Jesus a question – “Teacher, which command in God’s Law is the most important?”

Jesus said, ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and mind and soul.’ This is the most important, the first on any list. But there is a second ‘Love others as well as you love yourself.’

PRAYER TIME: Father, we will love you with all our heart and mind and soul. Teach us to truly love others as you love us. In Jesus Name, Amen

REMINDER: The time to be happy is now, the place to be happy is here, and the way to be happy is to make others happy and create a little heaven right here.
