TODAY’S TOPIC: It’s a Done Deal
We all have made bad judgment calls that make us very uncomfortable to think about. But the one thing about waking up to a new day is the opportunity we have to put the past in the past and to know that we are not that person anymore.
Our bad choices don’t define who we are or where we are heading. We learn! We grow! We move on!
It’s very important not to become trapped in your past that you find yourself hostage to bad memories.
When nothing excites you anymore life gets boring. When life gets boring you become stagnated. Anyone can recover from the most shameful episode in life. Never give up, never give in once you can breathe. Every day is another chance to show you’re the author of your story.
Someone said, “The greatest glory in living is not in never falling, but in rising every time we fall.”
It’s not where you fell but how you choose to rise again. Focusing on regrets changes nothing. Be patient with yourself. Make peace with your past.
God has many ways to get you to your designated end. You are defined by God and not by people’s opinions. Take your regrets to God and leave them there. Stop living in your past.
We know that no one will ever be perfect. So, don’t fake it. You only live once, but if you do it right, once is enough.
God can take even our worst mistakes and somehow bring about good from them. God of all comfort comforts us. We in turn comfort those like us with the comfort we receive from God.
Isaiah 43:18 -19 says, “Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing!”
God said it and that settles it. Forget the past. Move on and create a new beginning.
Psalms 19:11-13 “By your teachings, Lord, I am warned; by obeying them, I am greatly rewarded. None of us know our faults. Forgive me when I sin without knowing it. Don’t let me do wrong on purpose, Lord, or let sin have control over my life.”
Reading the Bible teaches you on many varied topics. It shows us our hidden faults and who ever obey the teachings will be greatly rewarded. Sin controls. Freedom comes when we walk in obedience.
There are two basic ways we sin:
- When we know we should not do something and refuse to do what’s right. To anyone who knows what is right and does not do it – it is a sin.
- A deliberate or spontaneous act in ways that does not please God is a sin. The cops doesn’t care whether you know the rules of the road. Your job is to know the rules before getting behind the wheel. It’s your job to know the things that pleases God.
God in all His wisdom knew we needed a Savior. We cannot stop ourselves from sinning, so Jesus took upon Himself all our sins and paid the price in full on Calvary. So, we make a choice to walk closely to Him.
PRAYER TIME: Father, only you can heal our deepest hurts and use the bad in our life for good. Please comfort us so we can comfort others. In Jesus Name, Amen
