Today’s Topic: Get Back In The Ring!
Without a goal in life, you will never have a good reason to wake up with a feeling of excitement every morning. My belief is, if you live your life well, you can live a full life without regrets.
Your thoughts and feelings determine how you live and how you live will determine how well you lived your life. Every regret, every bad experience, every past story can be turned into a fruitful vine allowing others to benefit from it.
Your goal may be to improve your physical characteristics like your hair, nose, and shape but be forewarned you will still be unhappy because you didn’t spend time working on the inner you.
It’s where all the secrets of the real you are hidden and tucked away in the rooms of your mind. We all have had our fair measure of secret wounds like rejection, abandonment, shame, betrayal, and injustice that left us feeling angry during different stages of life.
When the soul is wounded sleeplessness, exhaustion, nightmares, feelings of sadness, low self-esteem, anger, anxiety, and depression all play some sort of role in our everyday life.
Life is a series of events that we experience minute by minute. The decisions and choices we make will determine the quality of life we will eventually enjoy.
Some people live to be very old and still have not enjoyed living. So, it’s not how long you live but how well you have lived. Life, if well lived, is long enough.
How did I get from being there to here? I acknowledge that there were deep secret wounds that I had to deal with once and for all. I listened closely to what my heart was saying when I was alone in prayer.
I chose to forgive because I needed closure to the past. I rejected anything that challenged to keep me tied to the past. I replaced them with the truth of God’s purpose and destiny for my life, all of which had a brighter future. And when the ugly past tries to have a one-on-one chat with me, I quickly reposition myself away from the chatter.
I have always been a firm believer that anything worth having is worth fighting for. Coronavirus has forced us to acknowledge that life is far too short to sit around and wait for apologies and answers before you give yourself permission to laugh again.
Getting a degree, living in your dream home, filtering your selfies, marrying the perfect spouse, relocating, having children, changing your hair, tightening your stomach, fluffing your lips, changing the color of your eyes or go as far as even neglecting yourself will never fix the secrets of your inner soul.
Your only way to recovery is dealing with your painful secrets alone with God. Proverbs 27:19 says, “Just as water mirrors your face, so your face mirrors your heart.
When we look at a person’s facial expressions when they interact with others, you can often tell if they are friendly, kind, bitter, cruel, positive or negative. Our words may be saying one thing, but our face very often gives away the secrets of the heart.
Our goal is to live our life so well that one life will be long enough. Jesus only lived for 33 years. Without God life is hard. Why ask for prayers when the clock has started to slowly tick? I love seeing people living a full life. Life, if lived well, is long enough.
PRAYER TIME: Father, teach us to take note of our years so we can apply wisdom to them. In Jesus Name, Amen.
