SEPTEMBER 9 HEART TO HEART GROWN UP CONVERSATIONS

MY THURSDAY’S THOUGHTS:

Yesterday, I was sipping my hot drink in the moving car. One jerk caused the liquid to spill on my top which made me squeal like a trapped mouse looking at himself in the mirror.

While trying to clean up the mess it reminded me of something my Mom used to say to me – “There’s many a slip between the cup and the lip.”

How true. I was certain I had the cup firmly gripped in my hand, but one jerk of the moving car while I was sipping created a spill.

Sometimes, we can be that close to finishing something, but at the very last moment it slipped out of our hands.

Many things can go wrong between the start and the ending of anything. Even when things seem certain, something can go wrong.

Our only sure confidence is in Christ alone.
“ Being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ;”
‭‭Philippians‬ ‭1:6‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Here are my AHA MOMENTS:

☕️ Sing, even if there’s nothing to sing about. Sing harder than the noisy chatter in your head. Eventually the noisy chatter will lose its voice. It takes approximately 21 days to form a habit. Your future looks bright.

☕️ Get bigger dreams. Put God to the test. Reject small mindedness. Think outside of your limited views. You will have whatever you pray and work hard for.

☕️ Make room for a new circle of friends. People will stretch you and you will become more and more fruitful. Personal growth is highly contagious. You will not be the same person you were yesterday.

☕️ You will never see a miracle if your faith isn’t stretched. Do not fear, for you will not be ashamed. Look for something in your life that will only take a miracle to change the outcome. Add a prayer to it and watch God change your song.

☕️ You will forget the shame of your youth. Move past your yesterdays. Think big. God is doing a great work in you, and the half hasn’t been told.

THERE ARE MANY SLIPS BETWEEN THE CUP AND THE LIPS … “So if you want to brag, do what the Scriptures say and brag about the Lord.”
‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭1:31‬ ‭
