Anxiety vs Faith
Anxiety comes with a price. A very exorbitant price. Anxiety affects your health and if your mind is going at 100 miles per hour, be forewarned the choice affects your mental health and it’s also a heart attack waiting to happen.
Anxiety is not a sin but doubting God’s Word is a sin.
Proverbs 3:5-6 says, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.”
If you are suspicious, reluctant or have no confidence in God’s Word you have indirectly made a choice to go with your own understanding of the issues at hand. This makes you become overly anxious and leads to chronic overthinking.
There are no healthy relationships without trust …be it God, any human being, or even an animal.
Life is about trust and choices. Everyday we make choices. Some are more important than others, but they are still choices.
God knows the when, the where, and the why and the how. So drop on your knees, then let go and trust Him to do the rest.
Proverbs 14:12 says, “There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way to death”
Psalms 18:30 says, “As for God, his way is perfect: The Lord’s word is flawless; he shields all who take refuge in him.”
We see life as it happens day by day while God has our whole life mapped out just the way it will be until we die. We make plans but only if God allows it will they happen. His ways are better. He knows the beginning to the end and His motives are pure and can be trusted. He is the only one that can bring all our anxiety to come to rest.
If God is making you wait, then be prepared to receive more than you ask Him for. It’s easier to worry than to pray but it always has an unhappy ending.
When you trust God, you become braver and more confident as you give up your own reasoning and logical thinking.
Many times, what we see and what we are believing God for looks ridiculous. But encourage yourself that in times like these you can still trust God to do what He has said despite what your mind wants you to believe. It’s man’s understanding vs faith in God.
Luke 10:27 says, “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind.”
That’s what complete trust in God looks like. When you choose to think “why is this happening to me?” With – “What is this trying to teach me?” It shifts your focus to God and you alone, and your perspective changes.
Everyday life comes with making decisions that creates anxiety and fear within us. It’s reassuring to know that God wants you and I to lean heavily on Him.
PRAYER TIME: Father, help us to trust you. Forgive us for leaning on our own understanding. Teach us to pause and pray. In Jesus Name, Amen
