Today’s Topic: The Way of an Ant
Proverbs 6:6-11 says, “You lazy people, you should watch what the ants do and learn from them. But in the summer, ants gather all of their food and save it. So when winter comes, there is plenty to eat. You lazy people, how long are you going to lie there? When will you get up? You say, “I need a rest. I think I’ll take a short nap.” But then you sleep and sleep and become poorer and poorer. Soon you will have nothing. It will be as if a thief came and stole everything you owned.”
One day I sat watching a little ant going from one side to the other side carrying a big leaf several times more than its size. I smiled to myself as I saw how awesome God is that the tiniest of His creatures is fully capable of taking care of himself.
How could the tiny ant carefully carry into a hole the large leaf that he picked up from somewhere?
For the ant to get from point A to B he had to painstakingly work hard to overcome all the difficulties along the way. Someone could have stepped on Him. He may have met other ants coming and going who could have distracted him.
One time he dropped the leaf and in a blink of an eye, he quickly picked it back up and kept on walking. One thing is certain…he knew he didn’t reach his destination.
We worry about our family. We worry about our job. We worry about how to earn more money. We worry about where we should live, what kind of vehicle to buy, what kind of dresses to wear, what devices to upgrade, only to realize when we reach our final destination ‘The Grave’ all of those things were useless because we cannot take them to the grave with us.
John 14: 1-3, 6 “Jesus said, “Don’t be troubled. Trust in God, and trust in me. There are many rooms in my Father’s house. I would not tell you this if it were not true. I am going there to prepare a place for you. After I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back. Then I will take you with me, so that you can be where I am. Jesus answered, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. The only way to the Father is through me.”
My beloved, Jesus is The Only Way to Heaven. He is The Truth. He cannot lie. He is The Life after death. Like the ant let’s walk meticulously to our final destination.
Prayer Time: Father, teach us to number our days that we may apply wisdom as we go to our final destination ‘The Grave.’
In Jesus Name, Amen.
Heaven and Hell is single file like an ant working hard and meticulously walking to it’s destination. Be an ant. Be purpose driven.
