DECEMBER 15 HEART TO HEART GROWN UP CONVERSATIONS

Oh it’s CHRISTMAS 🎄

STORY #3 📕 Adapted from the TRUTHBOOK

Frank said, “The best Christmas I ever had was when I didn’t even get a present.”

Frank grew up in New York. His Mother had died when he was just eight years old. His Dad was a proud man. He had one suit. He would wear that suit to work. When he came home, he would take off the jacket and sit in his chair still wearing his shirt, tie, and his vest.

He had an old pocket watch that had been given to him by his mother. He would sit in his chair with the chain from watch hanging out.

One year, when Frank was about twelve, chemistry sets were the big thing. They cost two dollars. That was big money, but every kid wanted a chemistry set. He nagged his Dad about a month before Christmas. His dad would just say, ‘We’ll see.’

Three days before Christmas his dad took Frank to look at toys, but Frank wanted the Chemistry set. He never thought that his dad didn’t have the money to buy a chemistry set.

His dad would only say, “we better go home and come back the next day.”

His dad felt guilty about not being able to give Frank more. That night Frank couldn’t even sleep as he saw himself one day winning the Noble Prize.

The next day after work, his Dad bought a loaf of bread and took Frank to pick out the Chemistry set he wanted. As his dad pulled the two dollars out, one fell to the ground, and as he bent over to pick it up, the chain fell out…there was no watch.

Frank realized that his Dad had sold his watch. He sold his most precious possession to buy him a Chemistry set. He sold his watch.

Frank grabbed his dad’s arms and yelled, ‘No, Dad, you don’t have to buy me anything. I know you love me.’

They walked away holding hands all the way home. At that moment, Frank knew that his Dad loved him more than anything in the world.

Moral of the story: God loves us. He didn’t just say it. He showed it. He gave the most precious thing anyone could give – He gave His Son.

John 3:16, says, “For God so loved the world (you and me) that he gave his only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him, should not perish but have everlasting life.”

God gave His Son, Jesus, that you and I will experience unconditional love that has no end. Just ask Jesus to forgive you and to come into your heart and be your Lord and Savior. God loves you more than anything in the whole world.

He’s waiting for you to love Him more than anything in the whole world ♥️

Merry CHRISTMAS 🎄
