MAY 3 GROWN UP CONVERSATIONS with JUNE DOYLE

“Strive to Do What’s Right”

Mothers, our children hear everything we say, but they choose to imitate our voice, mannerisms, and even the way we dress. No longer can we say to them, ‘Do as I say but not as I do.’

It’s so important that we try our best to be good role models even if we didn’t have any. Our children are paying close attention even when they appear to be distracted doing their own stuff.

This is so funny but true….Have you ever yelled your child’s name out and got no response then you whispered something to your spouse and immediately they heard everything.

The question is, do we want our children to be another generation carrying the weight of our mistakes and regrets on their shoulders? It’s the images in their minds that creates toxic behaviour.

It’s up to us to break the stereotype of ‘Don’t tell me what to do. I will learn from my mistakes.’

When we heal ourselves, we heal the next generation that follows. Toxic behaviour is passed on until someone says, ‘I am ready to heal and break the cycle.’ Let’s strive to do better and inspire our children to refuse to inherit the dysfunctions that we grew up with.

Let them see us pray. Help them to understand the importance of having a healthy relationship with the Heavenly Father who will never leave them or forsake them when the crossroads gets confusing.

So many children are feeling lost, hurt, terrified, and confused. The sad reality is, many times their own parents don’t know. Time spent with our children is never wasted. Let’s strive to do what’s right.

The home is not the same when Mommy is not there. Our presence is powerful and effective making the home a safe haven. I never heard a mother regretting how much time she spent with her children. And I’ve never heard a child complaining that their Mother spend too much with them.

Culture may change but God’s Word does not. “Teach children how they should live. They will remember it all their lives.”
‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭22:6‬ ‭EASY‬‬

Every word and action will either add up to or take away from the watchful eyes that keeps track of our every movement. Let’s strive to do what’s right, not what’s easy

Prayer Time: Father, even when we are mentally and emotionally exhausted may we find the strength to be present for our children. Give us the grace and strength to do all that needs to be done for our children. In Jesus Name, Amen

Quote: “To be in our children’s memories tomorrow, you have to be in their lives today.”

  1. It is a privilege to create memories for our children and grandchildren. One lasting memory we have, is of a mother, who taught us, by her life and words, that it is so sweet to trust in JESUS!

Thank you for doing your part to leave this legacy. Sent from my iPad
