Let’s talk about STRESS MANAGEMENT!!
It’s not uncommon to feel disorganized and forgetful when you’re under a lot of stress. Over the long term, stress may change your brain in ways that affect your cognition (prefrontal cortex), attention (prefrontal cortex) and memory (hippocampus).
Stress can also affect your mood and anxiety, because of changes in the activity of brain chemicals (lower serotonin levels and higher neurotoxin levels).
☑️ So identifying when you are under stress and actively implementing self-care strategies is important to your health and wellness.
☑️ Many people find that ranking their level of stress on a scale of 1-10 is an effective strategy. For example, a rank of 6 might mean you are not hanging out with friends because you’re so drained, while a 7 might mean you are having difficulty sleeping due to excessive worry.
☑️ Having self-awareness and understanding of how your 6 differs from your 7 can help you gauge where you are, so you can implement necessary strategies to avoid getting to a 9 or 10.
Thanks, J, for sharing the practical wisdom of Dr. Krissy. We can’t make changes if we are not aware of what to look for. Thanks for this knowledge transfer.
Blessings to you and Dr. Krissy.
