YOUR ONE MINUTE with DR. KRISSY 🧠
Why is CHANGE SO HARD?
Change is hard because your brain does not like change.
Change can be uncertain, scary, or new. We tend to be hesitant, doubtful and stress out about change.
Our BRAIN is designed to protect us from uncertainty and therefore we experience resistance.
Neuroscience tells us that brain cells that fire together, to produce a behaviour or thought, also wire together. And it takes effort to break apart that wiring. So change for your brain is physically difficult to do.
However neuroscience also tells us that we have the capacity to change our brain across our lifespan. Yes, it gets harder the older we are … but IT IS POSSIBLE TO CHANGE.
Always a delightful teaching tool. We are never too old to change. 😁
