What makes the Devil tremble? Christians on their knees praying. Someone said, ‘Satan laughs at our words but trembles when we pray.’

Prayers memorized from the head and not spoken from the heart don’t connect with God. Prayer is simply a conversation between you and God where everyone is welcome to the table.

🙏🏾 “Our Father in heaven, hallowed by your name, your Kingdom come, Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.’

“And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by men. I tell you the truth, they have their reward in full.

🙏🏾 But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.”

Some folks sincerely believe that if they say, ‘I’m covered with the blood of Jesus and no weapon formed against me shall prosper’ without praying about it – it will work like magic. That sounds more like a pep-talk to me.

It will be foolish for me to stand on a busy six lane highway with a megaphone in my hand shouting to the top of my lungs, ‘ I’m covered with the blood of Jesus and no weapon formed against me shall prosper’ and not expect to be hit by speedy cars ultimately leading to my untimely death.

That will be erratic behaviour that does not get God’s attention.

One day Satan mockingly tells Jesus, “If You are the Son of God, throw Yourself down; for it is written, ‘He will command His angels concerning You and ‘They will lift you up on their hands, So that You will not strike Your foot against a stone.’ ”

👉🏾 Jesus said to him, “On the other hand Satan, it is written and forever remains written, ‘You shall not test the Lord your God.’ ”

To test God is to say, “A loving God would never allow evil to be formed against me” while living a prayer-less life.

🙏🏾 Without a doubt, God remains faithful in keeping His promises, according to scripture. But if we try to manipulate God while putting ourselves in situations and testing God to keep His word, then this is mockery.

God will not be mocked. Satan laughs at our words but trembles when we kneel in prayer.
