EASTER WEEK CONVERSATIONS – WEDNESDAY

I love what Steve Furtick says, “Even the people who betray you are part of the plan.” “Jesus couldn’t get to the cross if it weren’t for Judas.”

Question: Did Jesus know that Judas would sell Him out?

Answer: Jesus knew from the beginning who did not believe in Him, and who would betray Him.

Question: Why did Jesus trust someone who would be disloyal to Him to be a part of His inner circle?

Answer: Acts 1:16 says, “Brothers and sisters, the Scripture had to be fulfilled in which the Holy Spirit spoke long ago through David concerning Judas, who served as guide for those who arrested Jesus.”

Betrayal is a painful experience…it’s always with someone with whom we have a close relationship with and someone we trusted. Be assured, Jesus knows just how we feel because He knows about betrayal. He will walk us through the experience.

Psalmist David said, “Even my close friend, someone I trusted, has failed me. I even shared my bread with him.”
‭‭Psalm‬ ‭41‬:‭9‬ ‭NIRV‬‬

Joseph was betrayed by his own brothers, but God had a bigger plan. Genesis 45 – Pharaoh said to Joseph, “Say to your brothers, ‘Do this: Load your animals and depart; go to the land of Canaan. Bring your father and your households and come to me; I will give you the best of the land of Egypt.”

Greed is a heart issue. Some families stop speaking to each other because greed was stronger than love. Jesus warned in Luke 12:15 – And he said unto them, “Take heed, and beware of covetousness: for a man’s life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he possesseth.”

‭FOUNTAIN OF MERCY by Nathaniel Bassey

I drink from the fountain of mercy
I soar on the wings of your Grace
I walk through the doors of great favor
Your mercy is speaking for me

There is therefore no condemnation
For those who are rooted in Christ
The Darkness has got nothing on me
His Blood is availing for me

The Lord is my Song and Salvation
He crowns me with Glory and Grace
All that I need He has given
And works everything for His praise

Everywhere I go, everywhere I turn
Favor is all around me
Everything I do, everything I touch
Mercy is speaking for me

In closing: Do not fear or be dismayed. The LORD Himself goes before you, He will be with you. He will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid or discouraged.
