The Struggle is Real

It’s not a surprise that in life we will have enemies. We all know people who have a hard time loving us and we ourselves have a hard time loving some people. It comes naturally without any formal invitations as human beings. It’s unpleasant but it’s unavoidable. It’s easy for us to want to push back on our enemies…the struggle is real especially if the hatred stems out of jealousy, immaturity or insecurities. I’ve found that difficult people are lonely people and lonely people are easily misunderstood because of their insecurities.

Don’t block your blessings by trying to do people how they do you. It takes a lot of negative energy to respond to someone in a rude way. The struggle is real but peace of mind outweighs losing sleep because of someone else’s insecurities. Choose your battles. If the issue at hand is not that important …then it feels powerful to walk away from the issue at hand with your peace tucked away in your heart. Our daily goal should be to let our enemies bring out the best in us and not the worse…the struggle is real but the result is worth the fight.

Proverbs 4:23-27 teaches us some deep truth:

  1. Keep vigilant watch over your heart, that’s where life starts
  2. Don’t talk out of both sides of your mouth
  3. Avoid careless wisecracks, white lies and gossip
  4. Keep your eyes straight ahead and ignore sideshow distractions
  5. Watch your step, and the road will stretch out smooth before you
  6. Look neither to the right nor the left
  7. Leave evil thoughts and plans behind

Monday morning prayer:

Dear Lord,

Make a fresh start in me and let me keep a careful watch over anything that will cause me to lose focus. Make me alert in my mind, body and spirit so that I will not become distracted with sideshows. Let me watch my step and let the road ahead of me be stretched out smoothly. Let me not look to the right nor to the left leaving all forms of evil behind. My mind is alert and this week is going to be the beginning of a new season of perfect peace in my life . In Jesus’ Name I pray. Amen.

Happy Monday! May surely GOODNESS and MERCY follow YOU all the days of YOUR life!
