Love Under Fire 🔥

Loving people without an agenda is maturity. Loving people unconditionally is an accomplishment. The only person who can honestly win the ‘Perfect Unconditional Love Trophy’ is JESUS. It takes a lot of courage (strength in the face of pain) and self confidence (secure in yourself and abilities) to love people and without a hidden agenda.

Loving people when you are hurt, or disappointed, or offended …calls for an abundance of grace, courage and WISDOM. Getting to a place of showing love to people who don’t deserve it …is a reflection of the level of YOUR own happiness and security.

A strong, happy and secured person forgives, loves, walks away, lets go, and tries again. You don’t have to fake being okay when you’re not okay ….you can be real with how you feel, just don’t let it consume your thoughts and take over your behavior.

Tough Talk:

Bible: “I may speak in different languages of men or even angels. But if I do not have love, then I am only a noisy bell or a ringing cymbal.”

My thoughts:

1st Thought: Even if we had the ability to speak several languages or if we had the gift of speaking like God BUT we do NOT have love …then we’re only making lots of noise every time we open our mouths. Our wisdom and abilities don’t impress God. Sure we can impress each other including those who we do not love but it has no significant value or worth in Heaven.

Bible: “I may have the gift of prophecy; I may understand all the secret things of God and all knowledge; and I may have faith so great that I can move mountains. But even with all these things, if I do not have love, then I am nothing.”

2nd Thought: We may be able to understand and preach about all the secrets things of God, we may even have great faith to heal the sick, to cast out demons, to speak into difficult situations and see things turn around …. we can be gifted with spiritual gifts and abilities – but IF we do not have love…We are NOTHING. We are just like unbelievers.

Bible: “I may give everything I have to feed the poor. And I may even give my body as an offering to be burned. But I gain nothing by doing these things if I do not have love.”

3rd Thought: We may give EVERYTHING we have to feed the less fortunate, pay their bills, adopt the orphans, clothe the naked, cross the old lady across the street, pick up the displaced citizen in our Porsche, we may fight for equal rights and even get killed in the crossfire … BUT if we do not have love  â€“ We have gained NOTHING.

•••••• Here’s the real deal: âť¤ď¸Źâť¤ď¸Źâť¤ď¸Ź

  • Love is patient and kind.
  • Love is not jealous, it does not brag, and it is not proud.
  • Love is not rude, is not selfish, and does not become angry easily.
  • Love does not remember wrongs done against it.
  • Love takes no pleasure in evil, but rejoices over the truth.
  • Love patiently accepts all things.
  • It always trusts, always hopes, and always continues strong.
  • Love never ends.
