If you work for a company – most times after your first three months of probation you are given perks … also known as “benefits in kind” that can include bonuses, profit sharing, medical, disability, and life insurance, paid vacations, free meals, use of a company car, pensions, stock options, childcare, gratuity, company holidays, personal days, sick leave, other time off from work, retirement and pension plan.
Receiving benefits/perks is the ultimate goal for working for a company. These perks only become effective after you have met all requirements. The higher you climb up the ladder the better the benefits. The company will do everything to retain you by increasing salary and perks.
Well, the sad reality is, if for any reason your health begins to deteriorate, or your family dynamics changes, or the company begins to lose confidence in you, or someone smarter than you come along … well it’s so long bye bye with all the years, hours and loyalty you painstakingly gave to the company over the years.
I’m proud to go public to let the world know that there are great perks/benefits when you serve God … and the longer you serve Him … the benefits/perks goes up like the stock market. And most of all, when the going gets rough, God comes alongside us, and toughens us up so we can withstand the pressure.
When your confidence begins to fail, He scoops you up and reassures you that everything will be well. God stays with you to the end.
But the opposite is true, if you don’t serve God … there will always be lack in areas where money and notoriety don’t cut the deal.
When you serve God … you set apart yourself and make yourself available to do any and every thing He asks you to do. You respectfully observe and obey His leading even if it looks scary because you trust His ways.
Many times the trust goes beyond our understanding … but the benefits are found in knowing God will bring you out on the other side. He promotes you in the ‘More than Enough’ category.
My God is big enough to handle anything that may oppose you and any giants that will come against you. He is so detailed … He knows if a bird falls to the ground and He watches over you with those same eagle eyes while you are asleep. You don’t have to depend on your resources because He is able to do more than you can think or ask.
When anxiety strikes, you can run to Him and let Him know you’re scared. God reminds you that He is still in control and nothing, absolutely nothing, can come nigh where you live.
He will shelter you and you will find your rest in Him. God watches over your household and they too will have no lack.
God makes a way when your backs are against a wall. He changes your story from being victims of society to reigning and ruling your world.
The benefits/perks of serving God will continue to be a sign and a reminder to you in your golden years. The best is yet to come.
Living confidently knowing your God. He’s got your back!
