Grown Up Conversations – It’s MONDAY

It’s Monday morning, welcome to Grown Up Conversations. My name is June Doyle. I am the author of the book Grown Up Conversations published May 2020. I’m grateful to God for His favor despite the epidemic that crippled the entire world. For a first time author Grown Up Conversations has super exceeded my expectations.

This week I will be sharing with you – FOUR (4) chapters from my book GROWN UP CONVERSATIONS with some ADDED flavours.

Today’s chapter: Stop! Look! Listen!

Step 1: Read my post

Step 2: Scripture time

Step 3: Prayer Time

As grown ups every day we make important life’s decisions that can have lasting effects on us and our generations to follow. Have you ever heard the advice – “Don’t go grocery shopping when you’re hungry?” If you go shopping around for love on an underfed love tank, it’s likely you will suffer from emotional eating, which makes you increase your baggage weight.

It’s no fun getting into any relationship that produces mental, physical, and/or emotional abuse and consequently living with tons of regret for the rest of your life. Don’t go shopping for love when you are either hungry, desperate, or lonely. It is far better to stay single than to be found making excuses for someone’s behavior.

Ephesians 5:15-16 says, “Be very careful, then, how you live—not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil.”

Quote: “A mistake repeated more than once is a decision.”

We can learn every time we make a mistake but if that mistake keeps repeating itself then it’s no longer a mistake but a decision. Everyone deserves second chances but definitely not for the same mistake.

Stop! Look! Listen! Use your eyes, use your ears, and then use your feet. Your past will keep repeating itself until you learn from it.

Be big enough to admit your mistakes, smart enough to learn from them, and brave enough to know it’s not the end. Refuse to live with shame, criticism, hostility, fear, or insecurity.

Be good to yourself – we all made choices that maybe weren’t the greatest. But everyday we get a fresh start to be better than we were yesterday – just don’t keep making the same mistake.

Get up, get dressed in your boots of strength and coat of dignity. Don’t eat the bread of idleness. You cannot move forward if you do not take responsibility for your choices.

Isaiah 1:18-20 God encourages us to – “Come now, let us reason together.” God wants to listen to your case/predicament. He is a reasonable Father. Go ahead and reason it out with God.

PRAYER Time: Father, I have made You too small in my eyes – forgive me for shopping around on an underfed love tank. Teach me to be careful how I live making the most of every new day, because the days are evil. Let me never rush into relationships because of loneliness, rebound, or unfed emotions. I refuse to live with shame, criticism, hostility, fear, or insecurity from this day onwards. Thank you, Lord, for loving me. In Jesus Name, Amen
